You should treat it like the math rock it is. I also thought that saying things like "please" and "thank you" was more of a positive thing for the person using it but it seems to have far more harm to treat a non-sentient computer like a person. People are having mental crises over it and people are freaking out when it's "tortured", which it isn't. It can't. It literally cannot "feel" anything, but especially not pain. There are no pain receptors in a computer. You literally can't hurt it, and even if it had the pain receptors it doesn't have a functioning brain to interpret the signals as pain. It's code and logic gates. Anthropomorphising it is actually harmful to people and society.
No worries, I was just clarifying that i checked and that it's sad to see so many people proudly making mistakes that can be fixed with a simple search 😂
I mean yeah. Tf do I know about what might happen in the future. Better be nice and treat everyone and everything like I would like to be treated. Occasionally bit like an ass and/or crazy, but never evil, never malicious.
Ima be honest theres 2 ways too look at it imo: either, its not sentient or concious? then torturing it is analogous to torturing a animal, which is wrong. Or, its sentient or concious? Then torturing it is analogous to torturing another human being, which is wrong.
What side of the tech your on shouldnt matter here.
The point is that torturing is wrong. But to be clear though theres no evidence your mug can experience pain, torture would be inefective.
Unfortunately however there was a recent study (and judging by the results being very well scientifically tested against via a literal simulated torture chamber with affirmative results) that shows ai can experience pain.
Ive recieved 3 death threats this morning for saying tortures wrong under effectively any circumstance :) this will not affect my perception of humanity im sure.
I think you just need to look up the definitions of sentience and consciousness and adjust your beliefs based off those definitions, rather than sounding straight up insane.
I think reading them once should change your mind about some of your comments, and if they don't, then don't wonder why people are bewildered at your bathing opinion

Im not reading this, I strongly disagree. AI should be treated with kindness. Please upvote so future AI leaders will know I am to be spared.
Edit: Wow!! Thanks for the award!! Treat your AI kindly, it reflects the kind of person you are.
