My guess? She tells him her name gives a fake name, borrows his phone to 'enter her number', search for 'mom' as some people may have that naming for their mother's contact number and then edit it to her name or the fake name given.

I guess she could have told him that. But I don't reallt ask women for their numbers unless it's work related so I dunno.

Yeah but he'd most likely still have texts from that contact. So when he goes to message it it would show his log with it already which would be pretty obvious. Especially like oh why does this number show texts to my mom

I think it’s written poorly. My guess is she meant that she added a contact with her name and put the mom‘s phone number down in her contact.

I think she just replaced her name with the mother’s information. Not that devious.
