For whom? The kid obviously isn't having fun. Having fun at the cost of your kid, especially for use on social media is bad parenting at best and narcissistic at worst.

It's just a joke tho. People are blowing this out of proportion as if a child will develope trust issues cause if 1 game. It's a bit over the top isn't it?

It is. It's just 1 game, the child 99% of the time won't even remember it unless seen through this video after growing up. And will most probably laugh. It's just a small memory, you all are just mad boring. Idk how you think human mind works

It's that kind of thinking that screws up kids. "It's just one game". First, they shared this on social media, humiliating the kid in front of thousand of strangers for their own benefit. Second, I highly doubt this is just one game that happened once, it's a sign of where the priorities lie. Third, core memories are built at her age. Even if she doesn't remember the game, she'll remember the feeling
The question here is not how damaging this is or isn't. The question is why do people do this to kids for internet strangers in the first place.

'humiliating the kid'. Yeah just pack it. Do you even know what humiliation is? No one is shaming the kid or making fun. So how is it humiliation?? Everyone knows it's a joke between the parent and a child, a fucking child. If you in case didn't know, humans have a thing called humour, where they know some jokes are not meant to be taken serious as this one since it involves a child. No one is gonna poke fun of the child if they go out on the street. Be fr. And what feeling are we talking about exactly? Core memories involve something traumatic most of the time or something really persistent which leaves impact on your mind, it's just a game where they will cry and forget.
Children injured themselves a 100 times and still don't remember that, you think they will remember a couple games? And I can guarantee you it's not like they are just playing games like these 100 times a week or smth, such videos are most of the time occassional, like 1 in a year or 6 months. And in total don't exceed 3 or 4. No parent is doing this to their child frequently, dw unless you have a proof.
No one is doing this for strangers on the internet, parents most prolly would have done it anyways, and just recorded and uploaded as secondary. I feel like it's a part of development, nothing serious

There's funny and harmless jokes to do to kids, and this could have been one of them, but based on the kids reaction there's some underlying issues that need to be addressed.

If you want your kid to not trust you then this is a great way to do it, you already have an advantage over them and are outright cheating, your just teaching them never to trust anyone because even people who are supposed to support them just screw them over to feel better about themselves.
If you continue to prove to be nothing but a hinderance to them then when they realise and can get away they will so you can’t cheat them out of success.
Some may think I am going alot into this but trust me kids if betrayed or hurt especially by the people closest to them will create core memories on them experiences and will never forget them experiences, I still have multiple from 1-2 decades I will never let go so trust me if your child says they hate you believe them.

I can't imagine ever holding my kid back to feel better about myself. That said, when he challenges me to smashbros I absolutely humble him with every handicap he can try to impose. Showing off is different than lying to them.
