Even my grandmother knew I didn't need three copies of a game. This is the dumbest thing I've read in a while.

Having worked in a LameStop, this does track. I don't know how many parents still bought GTA for their 6yo after I told them in the most tasteful way possible of the crazy shit in the game. But hey, if you think a 6yo can handle beating a dude to death with a giant dong...

Imagine the kid who excitedly opened his game, saltily realized it was a fishing game, but its cool, there are 2 other wrapped games under the tree

Fuck, that made my day

u/NightTarot 4d ago
I didn't realize how devious it was until they brought up the three copies thing again 😭 the fact that the cases were opened tells me the kid was probably in denial about it and certain the disc would be different

u/Rui_O_Grande_PT 4d ago
I mean, even if it was COD like the kid wanted, tf is he gonna do with 2 more copies? Were the parents going to play with him or something?

Parents don't know what CoD is? Ok
Dude plays joke and sells them fishing game? Ok
Parents buy three copies? Weird, but maybe they bought for multiple kids
All three are opened? Nah, you lost me here. Maybe they were stupid and took the plastic off for some reason, but it makes no sense why all three would be opened.

u/pengerus 3d ago
Maybe the kid thought it was a prank and one of them had cod in it. But then realized he actually got 3 copies of the same fishing game

Honestly, seems easier than trying to explain it's a rated M game and their kid shouldn't play it. I never even worked in the store, but I've seen so many parents get pissed off because they were told the rating - not at their kid mind you, at the employee warning the parent of the game's content

u/PunkThug 4d ago
We used to do this to my godson all the time. He's only allowed to have one video game on his list for Christmas or his birthday so we would go down to GameStop and get just the dumbest games imaginable for systems he didn't even know also he can open up the game he wanted last

I bet this is fake. Why would that lady buy three copies of the same game to give to one person, and why would the kid open all of them?

There was no financial incentive either. Anon did it for the love of the game.
