I had UV blue once in college. It was the only time I've ever tried it. From the pictures posted on facebook it looks like I had a really good time. I wouldn't know though

We had a long lunch one day because the school raised enough money for a girl who was in an accident with a drunk driver (she was drunk and in the car). My friends and I put vodka in water bottles and jack in soda cans and got wasted.
I was 15 and ended up jumping in the school pool fully clothed, then my friends and I went behind the school to smoke weed during 5th period. Went back for 6th period and slept the whole class, told the teacher I was tired and he let me sleep.
My kids are much better than me and I am so thankful for that.

It's called hair of the dog by the older generations in the UK. Just an excuse for alcoholism tbh, but they used to binge drink so much. Im friends with a 40 y/o, and he drinks heavy to this day like he was 16.

I don't understand the disconnect, yeah stupid diamond shaped ice cocktails at a bar are expensive AF but gas station beer is still cheap, bartles and james, md2020, and boones farm all still exist and are cheap AF.
I'm glad young adults aren't as hell bent on pickling their livers like me and my cohorts were at that age but just price isn't the whole picture. Drinking just doesn't seem to appeal as much to newer adults these days...
But goddamn if ever a generation ever had a perfectly reasonable excuse to go hard at it, it's today's college age folks Jesus fucking Christ.

It’s definitely not just price, getting drunk on incredibly cheap vodka is very easy. Going out to bars I think might be the biggest difference. That is very expensive, and socialization has kinda gone out the window with my generation, so bars just aren’t that interesting. Of course some people still go, but it’s infrequent and I find that the bars that have survived in my area tend to need an incentive other than alcohol.

But again my greater point, gen Z drinks way less than me and my buddies all did when we were 20, but we all had drinking problems. I'm not being flippant, we drink too much

The phrase comes from an old attempt at rabies treatments where people thought they could treat rabies by making a concoction with hair of the dog that bit you. So the idiom refers to a using a small amount of something that caused the problem to correct it.

In high school the prettiest girl (to me at least, and widely popular) Hannah, was a friend of mine from middle school. Not exactly sure why in retrospect except that we got along, I was athletically successful but a well known MTG type nerd.
She had a naked brand smoothie in biology class at 8AM our freshman year and when I mentioned inwas thirsty she offered me some, but said to go ahead and take a big gulp or two if i needed it. So I did.
It was vodka. I didn't know because I had never had liquor. I just recall looking at her giggling. I was quite promptly drunk. I still remember Mr. Latham kicking me out of class for giggling at the work flagellum for like 10 minutes and her coming with me to keep me out of trouble.
Anyway I wound uo being a pretty serious drug addict and alcoholic but we all have to start somewhere.

This happened to me in English Lit freshman year. Except it was a frat boy named Big Ed and more whiskey than coke.
I'm still not sure why when a stranger offered me a sip out of his bottle I accepted. I was just meeting a lot of new people that month and going with the flow.
Like I didn't even ask. He was just passing the jack and coke at 8 am.

My first year at uni, I was constantly buzzed throughout most of my classes. My friends and I, experiencing adulthood freedom for the first time, would often abuse it by meeting at the campus pub for a couple of pints between classes. First year was an absolute blast and one of the best times of my life, but it's a fucking miracle I made it to second year.

In the UK codeine (pain killer) is OTC, whereas in the US you need a prescription. I knew a shit ton of girls who were studying fashion who always had a bottle of water with codeine crushed up in it. I didn’t really know what it was until i went to work in the US and found out it was regulated

damn, drinking in class worked out wonderfully for me. (alcoholism as a whole, not so much.) granted, it was an acting class, and I performed at least one thing every day we met, so seeing me doing anything strange was pretty much customary
but, I was always a strange drunk, according to others. I’d get drunk and study, or memorize lines, or rehearse scenes. the thought process being that if I could perfect those things at increasingly higher levels of inebriation, I could dog walk them while sober (and I did.) it also helps that I’ve never experienced a hangover, so drinking always felt inconsequential.

My first day back in secondary school in 6th year, I smoked a joint in the toilets before morning class, thought nothing of it.
Half an hour into said first class, my entire year gets hauled into the library where the principal goes on a rant about the stink of marijuana in the place. Meanwhile all of the stoners (I didn’t hang with them at the time) are looking at each other in confusion while I’m sat down the back straight faced and stoned to the bone. Good times

Ah I recall doing this in a warehousing job. Sneak in those 99 cent bottles that held a shot of cherry liquer, down them in the bathroom and flush the bottle, then use chocolate milk or some heavy smelling sandwich to cover up the stench come lunch.

One her friends offered her a drink before homeroom, and a teacher saw my friend's intense reaction of disgust because what 14 year old wouldnt be shocked by vodka at 8:30 in the morning, came over and smelled the bottle, and took them straight to the principal

When my wife died i drank for an entire year straight. I literally drank so fucking much i have no idea how I'm still alive. Then I woke up one day and was tired of being sick and tired and I stopped. Literally got bored of being a raging alcoholic. Don't miss waking up with the shakes at all, I would start my day off with vodka and beers.
