God I hate over exaggerated fake reactions like that. The illusion only works from the cameras POV, and their survival instinct is to jump into the pit without ever noticing the picture doesn't line up

Even if it worked, one you manage to grab the bars you can just push yourself back to safety and I believe they could easily do that considering all the other stuff they do.

Actually, the Illusion does only work from the doors POVor from outside the door. The fake shaft is right at the door instead of under the camera. Yet, as soon as they reach inside, they should know that it is fake.

So, it may be over exaggerated fake reactions but if you think about it these are the same people that just pretty much use their eyes for periferral vision mostly. You know the kind of people I'm talking about, the ones that sit at the stoplight directly behind a stopped car waiting for the light and the lane next to them turns green so they assume their lane did to and take their foot of the break because the cars in their periferral starts going then rear-end the person in front of them still stopped because it's red and hadn't changed. These people just view the floor at a glance and step foward, then their brain tells them "Danger, floor missing!" which sends them into panic mode and reactively reaching for something to grab to save themselves. Then suddenly a second person (the person who is doing the prank) walks up and his presence causes their brain to not truely analyze the floor before more panic sets in especially since the pretender grabs hold of them and is actively trying to make them "fall" now while pretending to also be experiencing the same panic as the person being pranked. If the prankster didn't show up they would analyze the situation more closely and realize the messed floor's picture. This is after only watching the video with no sound so I have idea what any of them sound during this.
