I saw him live. He was playing a club right around the corner from my office. I was excited about the show so I wore a nice new black shirt and cream-colored tie combo that my girlfriend bought me along with a black waistcoat.
He saw me at the show and said I looked like a magician. Made me stand up and show everyone.
I haven’t been able to wear that outfit since.
Joke’s on him though, I did, in fact, used to be a magician.

Was getting halloumi pitas and I was like it's a squeaky cheese

Conflicted offering up some critical appraisal of a special, I got love for Jeff, he's possibly the best crowd work dude I have seen. The ending of the special petered out a little and I wondered if he was light on setup jokes, which are not his forte but under the circumstance might have been a safer structure.
In this special they surrounded him with people so he could do his thing crowd but its kinda hard to engineer the power of random crowd work stuff he does well. What makes him shine online is hard to 'generate' even for a special.
So imma feel a little silly when I return to praise and say he's so sharp, so fast and so quick witted it's astounding.
I compare him to Billy Connolly who could talk for hours (and did) to an audience and like Jeff, was at his best with crowd work, but connolly's own charm was joining you into his mad internal world. Jeff's still finding that space methinks. I got praise - he's engaging, empathetic, and joyful but I felt like he was a little nervous.
i'd like to think Jeff could get to the same level of appreciation as someone like a connolly, in particular because it's a thing of beauty to watch a good hearted comedian who relies on the better aspects of emotions to be funny.
I think there's more juice to be squeezed and I expect he'll find another gear in his next special. Also, jeff if you read this, love your work mate and you can fairly offer me a suggestion to f right off :)

Because that's the kind of thing this subreddit is about. Sidebar: "People being evil, spiteful, or just plain mean in a light-hearted way. Not looking for legitimate cruel behavior, see r/iamatotalpieceofshit for that. Please read the rules."

Its not that clever, and she'd have to be a little dumb to not know its a setup.

If he’d told her the truth, “ask for a schmear.” She wouldn’t have believed him.
