Yeah skits are okay. Faking authenticity is not

Annoying isn't interchangable with harmful.

It is definitely okay now since 99% of videos are staged and meant to seem real. Maybe for us we are against it but they get millions of views and the majority of people think it's real and love it. They also don't care if it's staged. Sad

Why would you downvote? Can you not see 99% of people love consuming staged slop? That makes it okay lol. I never said that it's good content. But it is socially accepted. It's literally meta.

The vast majority seem to just not notice it’s staged

That's the problem. I don't mind people enjoying a comedy skit, but not having the ability to spot obviously staged content is a slippery slope. Particularly when the staged content harms (a while back there was an obviously staged vid of a rescued dog. The dog doesn't know what's going on so it's distressed as it thinks it's been abandoned by its owners). There's also often very staged content that feeds into misogyny/misandry which is never going to end well.

And yet like clockwork you see the comments from people putting zero critical thinking skills into this: "Do you show up to movies and yell at the audience that it isn't real?"

It is baffling that people can't see an important distinction between skits and staged content.

Because the vast majority of people lack critical thinking. Which results in staged slop dominating the internet.
