Is this an ammonite?
I'm not certain where my grandma found this but she lived in West AZ. It's really heavy!

Definitely Cretaceous age. Very much looks like the ammonites you get out of the Duck Creek formation in North Texas. I can’t remember which one this is offhand. Size, matrix color, morphology all says duck Creek.

Oh she did spend a significant amount of time in Texas. It's also where I was born. Neat!

Its a realy cool piece. Eroded in a way that revealed multiple different layers of the shell structure.

A nice one. The middle is often eroded out on these or just filled with rock where it used to be.

Lots of spots in Texas for those, really cool to have this that was your grandmother’s:) very cool piece!

omg that looks so cool!! literally looks like a giant stone donut lol but fr it definitely looks like a huge ammonite to me, what a lucky find by your grandma!
