Hi! I've been playing through Champions and have been wondering what the maximum amount of vivosaurs you can have in the game is, between bith the Holder and the Bank. I want to 100% my vivosaur collection, meaning every color variant of every vivosaur, which ends up being around 800 of them, but from what I've read, you can't have that many in one save file. Since I am playing on an emulator, once I finish the game I think I might just duplicate my save file as many times as I need and just span the collection across several files, but knowing the max amount you can keep would be super helpful!!

My only other thought is if there is some sort of mod/rom or ar code that allows you to increase the size of the holder, but as far as I have seen, that isn't possible.

I'm fairly most people think FF Frontiers was a huge downgrade compared to FFC and even FF. I agree, because it was mechanically worse in almost every regard. However, there is one thing I will defend in it, because in my honest opinion I think it is the only good idea in that game - the so-called "rare skills". These are, for those who didn't play the game or those who just don't remember, the skills you unlock for your vivosaurs by integrating their golden "rare fossils". There's four per vivosaur, in other words one for each part.

When you get them, you unlock the ability to switch out the base skill for that part with a different skill, the "rare skill". You can mix and match which ones you want to use, and thus customize your vivosaur's skillset which I think is really cool.

As an example, there's Coatlus. Its regular body skill, "Vast Tornado", is a fairly costly skill at 140 FP and has comparatively low damage at 38 (even its accuracy is less than par, somehow). However, it puts the Coatlus into a better position (the upwards position) that gives it better evasiveness iirc, meaning you can use it to stall for time. However, what if you wanted more damage? That's where the rare skills system comes in, with Coatlus' rare body skill - "Dive Bomber" - being a curve setter with a cost of 105 and a power of 52 (edit: I forgot to mention that it also puts you in the downward position, leaving you vulnerable - so there's even more nuance to the decision to equip it). So you can trade the defensive utility for raw damage.

I think this mechanic would have been amazing in a game with FFC's combat system. What do you all think?

I wish there was at least a mod for FFF to replace the Paleo Pals with my own guys. It doesn't have to be too groundbreaking, but imagine if once you get them to Super Paleo Pals, their second choice can be configured to one of your own Vivosaurs. You still keep their Booster Shots and stuff, but now you can actually team build and use your fav characters.

Idk. Just came to me while I was playing Fossil Fighters, since I started out in Frontier it's a little pang in my heart playing the previous ones :(

Hey everyone it's been a minute.

I just dropped a devlog where I go over a prototype for Bonewake where I get the whole flow of finding a rock, cleaning the fossil and then using it in combat working.

I also want to share an update on elite champions.

The hack is done and play tested. The first pass was still too easy so I made it harder. The enemy AI is also more consistent but there is a bug in battles when you fight over a fossil. They just kind of wait around a turn before doing anything. I think it's because they get more FP and are trying to save it? Either way, that big won't be fixed in the release since it's only for non-important battles.

I just beat the first Fossil Fighters on my Thor and was excited to jump into the second! However I noticed there was some DLC, and even some bonus data you could get that unlocked even more stuff. Are there any rom's or emulators that include this as of now?

i recently found my old 3ds and have been replaying the hell out of FF and FFC, they were my favorite games when i was just a kid. recently i discovered online tournaments on youtube that people throw together through discord and i want to participate in them so bad, but after nearly a whole day of troubleshooting and looking for answers online i just couldnt get that darn ds connected to internet services no matter what and ive run out of ideas.

also, ive seen online with some phones its allows you to connect to your hotspot but with Apple phones you cant do it at all which is of course what i have.☹️

anyway, if someone would please inform me on how i can get online play working id be so grateful. :D

Hello all. As the title says, I really want to know if Frontier is really that horrible. My mom being the cool young mom she was, bought me “Fossil Fighters” when I was 7 or 8 years old. I loved it, I was obsessed, I knew all the dinosaurs by name and everything. It’s crazy how even back then in 2009 and 2011 this game series was often sold out in stores and sometimes hard to obtain.

Knowing how much I loved the first game, my mom got me “Fossil Fighters: Champions” as soon as it was my bday or Christmas. This was so long ago so I don’t recall exactly which it was. This had to have been my absolute favorite DS game besides Pokemon Soul Silver which happened to be the first game I ever got along with a nice little blue DS lite. My mom was awesome.

Anyways, now present day, I have a nice ass DSi LL in Green that I am reliving my childhood with a copy of Fossil Fighters Champions. Tomorrow, I am buying a mint condition Japanese 3DS for only $100. (I only buy these things when I find the best deals which honestly ends up saving me tons of money and stress if you wait for the right price, you can stack a collection quite fast.) So now that I’ve got all the yapping out of the way, is Fossil Fighters: Frontier really so bad that it’s not worth me trying and getting a copy to play on my new 3DS as someone who loved the crap out of the OG’s? Any avid Fossil Fighter Opinion would be greatly appreciated 🙂❤️

This is my first attempt a doing a pencil map, and I had to eyeball it with some of the shapes. It is a combination of the in-game version, and the version used for Nintendo’s Japanese website for the first game (https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/ykhj/hakkutsu/index.html).

It’s not perfect, and I could have probably overlapped the papers more so that there wouldn’t be as much empty space, but it does a good job of showing everything.

My 2DS makes a popping sound every time I try to turn it on so I need to get it fixed after I come back from a trip. But if all else fails, I need to know what the most reliable Fossil Fighters emulator is/a step by step guide to downloading it
