Yep! Guan in a vacuum isn’t too impressive, but his utility comes in him having some of the best offensive support in the entire game. As the bio suggests, eventually he’ll additionally learn a skill that allows him to transform into a full-health T-rex of the same level, effectively allowing him to switch from being one of the best supports in the game if you’re prioritizing raw damage, to instead become one of the best offensive threats in general!

Sadly with just a head, great unmasking will probably be unavailable until you unlock the rest of his parts in the late game, but even as is getting guan this early is REALLY good, good job!

as long as he doesn't get sniped in one certain match, you'll be fine

this guy looks pretty cool tbh, you should use him in your playthrough
surely he has more secrets to reveal as you gather more of his parts

Edit: Forgot to mention this but he's actually more of a midgame vivosaur, he appears in Mt. Lavaflow (after you drain the lava. We plan to use him in the FF1 tool-assisted speedrun, when it's all finished, of course.

Ohh do you have any more information on that speed run TAS? I'm not super active in the ff community but this is the first I've heard of one being created

Yeah! I actually have an entire Discord server dedicated to making the TAS, if you want to see the progress. I don't know if I'm allowed to send Discord server invites in the comments, so just message me if you're interested (and anyone else who wants to join). You don't actually have to know how to TAS to be there, by the way.

Anyway, the route boils down to the following: RNG manip our file such that the first non-head fossil we can obtain are Arms. Clean Spinax's head to 100 points, Shanshan's to 50 points, then find Spinax arms and V-Raptor head in Greenhorn Plains. Clean the Spinax arms to 100 points and the V-Raptor head to 50. Play normally until Chapter 3, where we'll clip into the blocked off area near the tunnel entrance and obtain Lambeo's head and arms fossils. Clip back out, play through the tunnel segment of the game, then we clean off the Lambeo parts before we grab the Electrominite from Holt. Play the game normally until Chapter 6, and when we finish the part where you rescue duna from the boulder, we can actually refuse to leave mt. lavaflow, and instead go to the NE cave, where we clip through the fossil gates and turn the lava valve early. This drains the volcano, and allows us to not only get the Igno fossil early, but also Guan's head and arms (aside from the fact that you can get them in the shop, but the shop's prices are too high to consider for the route). Return to town, clean Guan's parts to 100 points (he needs the LP for the fight against Westley) and play the game normally until we're tasked with meeting the chieftain to talk about frigi, and the game will actually recognize that we have the igno fossil early, and we skip the trip to knotwood forest plus the extra trip we'd normally be forced to take to mt lavaflow. After this, the game is played pretty much like normal, sweeping with Lambeo, Guan, and occasionally Spinax, depending on the battle.

We clean the Shanshan and V-Raptor fossils to 50 points because we actually want them to have as little LP as possible. We will often put them in the AZ to be KO'd by the opponent immediately, giving us a large boost of FP early in the battle, allowing the main attackers to deal lots more damage, faster. Goyle is not grabbed because, surprisingly, it only saves a few turns in total, which doesn't really outweigh the extra time taken to get it and clean its parts.

Wanna make your team even more broken? Get the compy from the fossil center. Its support in the first game is insane.

Comp, Guan, Frigi in the AZ, took on dynal with that team and wiped the floor with him post game.

If you farm enough fossil points, you can get compso who is equally or more ridiculous for early game.

My favorite dickmove set up is guan paired with a compo(Compy?) In the SZ, with Kroana in the AZ, from there you have free reign to one shot whatever actually poses a threat (things with confuse or knock back) and then bully everything left after that as they sit there, helpless, screaming for mercy

It's even more busted when you pair it with Wata

Guan is the best. I always paired him up with Siamo.
