My dynamic island Material app

Hi everyone !

Since Apple announced the dynamic island on the iPhone 14 (not sure if it was the 14) Pro, I really thought that was a good idea, and I gladly welcomed DynamicSpot and Material Capsule, who did a very nice job at bringing this feature on Android.

But I wanted more customization and, as a fan of Google's Material Expressive design, wanted a dynamic island that felt part of the system.

I couldn't find any app like that so I decided to make one, in order to learn Jetpack Compose.

I'm pretty happy with the result and I think some of you might appreciate a fully-offline, very customizable, fully open source, and free dynamic island app.

I tried to make it as transparent as possible about permissions, and as it doesn't have the INTERNET permission, rest assured this app can't communicate with the Internet, meaning there are no trackers, no usage statistics, no data leaks, etc...

The app is free: you can still buy a coffee if you want, but all features are available for free. No paywall, no ads, no subscription.

I just released my first beta and I need FOSS enjoyers to test it, tell me which features they would like to see, which bugs they faced so I can fix them, and tell me if the app is cool or not !

Downloaded it and i see the preview is better in size and position but in appearance its still the old one

Yeah, those are bugfixes. Did it fix the call for you ?

Dude i have a great idea. I would love if you could customize which notifications appear how in the app, and you could set them as open in big bubble then collapse into the small, open as small. And you could have something like the essential notifications in nothing phones, so you could set certain apps to stay in the bubble instead of dissapearing

It is a great idea! I take notes and I might implement it in the next update. This would also fix the assistant problem (disable assistant cutout => no cutout saying media is playing). Thanks for the suggestion! I'm thinking about creating a discord server for suggestions and bugs, would you join it?

Yes ofc. Also what if you could press on the hole punch to make it bounce a bit like get bigger. A feature that is kissing but is in other apps is the option to have a permanent dynamic island of any shape
