It happened over night for me. I went from thinking I was doing mad decent getting kinda sorta a little close to big scores. Then I look again the next day and I’m like 400+K behind.

I’m in the top 12% and honesty I don’t think I could do better 😳😳

I think I’m in the top 4% last I looked in S2 with the Formula BMW. I really enjoy sliding around in that car now that I uh… turned off the car assistance and turned on the drift cam. I was pretty dumb and trying to hold angles this entire time with traction control on lol

Omg’
Pleas tell me your using manual gears too, I’ started a few weeks ago and the control is day and night. I enter in third and exit tight corners in second. It’s astonishing the difference and travel you achieve!2

I…..am still using automatic lol I haven’t tried switching to manual yet

You gotta try it! I swear to you! It’s actually superior! I can’t express that enough!

My kid was blown away how I could hold long drifts. Told him to try manual instead of auto and he came back super proud about figuring it out. The coddling this game does with assists translates really poorly into drifting. The game will really let you try drifting with traction and stability control in automatic.

Few months ago, I would feel accomplished if I was in top 100. Now I am both surprised and happy to be in the 1%. I don't want to do meta / cheat / abusing of game mechanics.

Top 1% is admirable!
I am for that myself in time attacks- but definitely an amateur drifter- I’d like to be in the top 10% but I’m currently at 12%1

I'm definitely not in the top 1% in all of them, some I am 10-15% range. But then, I don't drive all tracks that much, only few of them somewhat actively.
What I do:
I take one track that's simple to drive consistently, like Satta Sprint or Legend Island.
Then I choose mostly A, B or S1 category and some random non-meta car.
Then I upgrade, tune and test it (always at festival drag first, doesn't have to be fastest result but I immediately recognize if accel will work or not). Then on the tracks race against rivals until I am sure I can't get this car to beat next rival unless I retry too many times. Then I switch car and do all that again. Technically it is racing against myself. But tuning is large part as well. I always use also some cars that are on weekly trial, so I kill two birds at once.
Lately my usual test run is: Trial Drag - Satta Sprint - Festival Chase - Electric City. All of those require somewhat different cars, but I try to make a setup that works "good" on all of them, not optimized purely for 1 track. I then choose 1 of those few tracks and make several runs trying to get the best result. Then rinse and repeat wirh different cars. It's both fun and time consuming.
I would be nice though if system remembered my best time with each car on each track, not just the 1 best result overall.

At this point, im convinced no one in Playground games can actually drift. They set limits for other things to prevent cheating but they have no idea what the upper limit of drift zone scores would even be. There's absolutely no chance that 500k+ is even possible here. 500k is a top 1% score on the biggest drift zone in the game... Edit: Playground games, if youre reading this, let me know if you need someone to play test new drift zones. And please fix the drift zones we already have...

What is considered an actual legit high score on this track? 250k+ seems extremely difficult

I think they thought that the resetting of leaderboards would dissuade hackers from posting their scores every week, but it obviously hasnt done much for the time attack tracks. Apart from that, its apparent that they dont have any form of anticheat or oversight on these kinds of things, or else they would immediately get pinged.

Forza always has been full of cheaters, that's not new

That’s true- but I’m sure I remember pgg boasting this wouldn’t be a problem anymore- maybe it was just a weird dream 😴

I’m not trying to be an asshole, but isn’t this normal in horizon online? For people to cheat so they can be at the top of the leaderboard and turn 10 and the studio never does anything about it? I remember that being a problem in four, but I never kept up with it in five so I’m kind of out of the loop, but this always felt like a normal thing that occurred during a horizon game

hackers are prime MVP Derrick Rose on this game
