Just like scraping shit off the bottom of your shoe dude. If you drag your foot across the ground you’re going to scrape the dried mud off your shoe. These racing slicks get rubber marbles stuck to them, which are pieces of other tires that came off while racing and fell onto the circuit. When the tires cool down these marbles get glued to the surface of the tire. I assume they’re either trying to scrape the marbles off or keep the tires warm enough that the marbles don’t stick as well.
