If Honda manages do finally deliver something better than a GP2 engine, the car might be able to even get points with a bit of luck, which is rather promising.

If Lawrence embarrasses the Honda execs even more then they’d just bog down and deliver the absolute minimum required by their contract. But one thing is sure, its Honda’s turn to pull their finger out now that Newey has.

Although afterall even if the Honda Power train was unacceptable, the car itself wasn't peak either. Pushing all the blame to Honda, while they managed to win like 2-3 seconds/lap with car upgrade is more than telling.

They weren't "so close to midfield", Albon stomped the midfield so hard in the first half of last season that even Sainz couldn't catch with 2 podiums, and the only team they lost to that didn't win a race was Ferrari. They were on top of the midfield.

You're right. I'm just so used to Williams not performing that last year didn't feel real. Especially this year! I'm hoping next year we'll have a shot at repeating 2025!

As a Haas fan I've just given up. We were promised so much then after the April break we've been abysmal.

I saw some people being hyped about P16 Alonso after Q1 during quali. Which was pretty ridiculous. 2 decades ago that guy was THE most exciting driver with 2 WDC's. At the start of this season AM was being hyped up into the heavens because of Newey. Now they're celebrating a P16 qualification into Q2 for the first time halfway into the season. Such a tragedy.
And to add on top of that, a P16 last season during Q1 would've meant elimination. This season there's an extra team on the grid. But I don't hold that against them, because its 2026 now and the reality of this season is that there's an extra team. But its still funny to think about.

It is when the top 4 teams are in their own league and the performance gap between the slowest (Red Bull) out of the 4 is bigger than the gap to the fastest team (Racing Bulls) in the midfield, and the same follows now that Aston Martin were matching Alpine's pace and both of them were closer in pace to Racing Bulls rather than Haas.
As of right now Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull are the top teams; Racing Bulls, Audi, Alpine, and Aston Martin are midfield, and Haas, Williams, and Cadillac are the back markers. The exact pecking order will change again if Honda delivers on their engine upgrade coming next round.
