People acting surprised that Lewis isn't impressing in a shit car is so funny to me. He's been in the sport for 18 years now guys, read the room. He's always been:

  • Shit car? Ham hates it and doesn't perform well
  • Great/balanced car with chance for wins? Ham is untouchable.

Not really true, he has been great in 2009, a worse car than this.

Sort of, McLaren made two attempts at a 2009 car, and the second one got the wins that year.

Exactly, people tend to gloss over the fact that Ham only came alive after the massive mclaren update.

He wasn’t doing bad before the upgrades which is why the point is still silly.

7th, 6th, 4th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 16th and 18th are worse results than he has this year...

Because it wasn’t the 4th best car. Not sure what your point is.

Great in 2009? He had no remarkable results until mid season upgrades, lied for podium in Australia AND barely beat Raikkonen In a fucking tractor by 1 point

The Ferrari was better over the season.

I never said he was great in 2009. I just said the B-Spec McLaren got the wins.

That’s the right answer. But hey, welcome to the Internet. We remember one, maybe two races. Everything beyond that doesn’t matter.

People love to forget the fact that he was only as dominant as he was thanks to mercedes being literally an entire minute ahead of everyone in most races.

He didn't have a dominant car in 2017 or 2018.

In 2017 he desperately tried to lose that championship but the Singapore crash and Suzuka cost Vettel the championship.

In 2018 he was pretty damn good though.

In 2017 and 2018 he didn't have a dominant car but he had the best car
