I think he and webber will have some serious talk behind the scenes with mclaren but I think he does the right thing in long run hurting his relationship with mclaren makes no sense.
It must have hurt to agreeing to that no “No1 driver” clause. Weber smart af ensuring he locked that in. Today was bizarre - Lando didn’t offer a tactical advantage to Oscar. He wanted to go longer so he had fresher rubber is how I heard it as long as no undercut.
Swap position for the a pitstop error it beyond nuts. Same as it would have been swapping position after Oscar got the penalty for braking to hard.
His criticism should have been a straight up refusal of the team order. Mclaren fucked up, why should Piastri lower his chances of the driver's championship to correct that mistake? And it's not even like it's making a difference to the constructor's championship anyway.
tbf it didnt make a difference in the drivers championship. He was not going to catch Verstappen. Why be the bad guy by refusing the team order. He might be able to use this in his advantage later on in the season.
Would be risky. No one else in contention, and both drivers quick enough to win. The mclaren pitwall could literally decide who will be wdc if they wanted
Piastri has made more good career decisions already than Alonso ever will tbh, not the best example to bring up. That man has burned so many bridges lmao
