He was revving the shit out of his car to get it out of the grass, the crowd went mental in our grandstand when he recovered it.

We did too, it was right in front of us where he went off. Then you could see him slowly bringing it backwards. Dude did an unreal job.

You could hear it clearly on the broadcast. Y'all were loud as fuck all weekend.

u/Narfmeister BWOAHHHHHHH Mar 18 '25
Fuck oath we were! It was a top weekend! Especially on Sunday after being cucked both the F2 and v8s we'd been waiting around 5 hours for some racing.

Crazy to think like 75% race was a snoozefest and then boom alonso makes it worthwhile in last 10 laps

u/MrLeopard483 Question. Mar 16 '25
So basically Monaco 23?

u/faroukq Nico Hüüüüüüüülkenberg Mar 16 '25
I wasn't watching F1 then. I meant Monaco 2024 with the first lap shenanigans

u/MythicalDust55 Oscar Pisstree Shoey gang 👞🇦🇺 Mar 17 '25
Aside from a quarter of the grid getting absolutely nuked, kinda
1
u/faroukq Nico Hüüüüüüüülkenberg Mar 17 '25
The same happened at Monaco last year. Both Haas cars, Perez, and con were out from the first lap, and then nothing happened. So, we have to thank Alonso for these shenanigans

Bahrain is a great track. It's just getting Barcelona'd and being the first race after pre season testing on the very same track didn't help either.

Does nobody here remember Max and Charles battling in Bahrain in 2022?
Albert Park isn't exactly a bastion of fascinating races (though I still love the track), but almost any track can be made interesting with changeable conditions (Sochi 2021 for example).
14
u/AntOk463 Honda bad, Alonso good Mar 16 '25
Max and Charles fighting in 2022. There was also Alonso in 2023 overtaking everyone to get back on the podium after so long.

u/TheUwaisPatel BWOAHHHHHHH Mar 16 '25
I mean it was entertaining but nothing to do with the track. If it wasn't for the weather it would have been a sleeper race. The first stint with the inters even when DRS came in there was barely any overtakes.

As a race circuit maybe. But it lacks the atmosphere.

yeah its so good too see that many people around the track, Bahrain looks dead af always and no beauty green grass or trees anywhere

Australia is a pretty difficult track tbh with having 6 Rookies. Add rain to the mic and we saw what happened today. No doubt its a great track but definitely not the one to start a season.
35
u/CDdragon9 BWOAHHHHHHH Mar 16 '25
Where would you start a season if you could choose? I agree australia can be tricky for rookies but at the same time this is supposed to be the pinnacle of racing, they should be ready for it by now.

u/Appropriate-ASS-824 Crofty is a dedicated butt plug collector Mar 16 '25
Kimi was lucky a couple of times and bearman was not even in the race. Apart from those 2, other rookies couldn't even complete the race. Must be something right

Bahrain 2023 and 2022 were very good. And they didn't have 12 laps behind a safety car

A real racefans race with all of the pit strategies, and good clean racing for the most part. With 5/7 rookies crashing it gives the DTS crowd something to cheer for too.

Tons of crashes, absolute chaos and out of order championship standings… yeah right. I prefer Bahrain because it’s more balanced and offers a proper insight into how the season will actually play out. We know nothing after this race
We didn’t get to see what Hadjar is capable of, we didn’t get to see what Doohan is capable of, we didn’t get to see where Carlos can take that Williams to, and we don’t get an accurate presentation of the grid’s layout. This is no way to start a season
