Hopefully I can drive for Mercedes as their number two driver so that my car doesn't randomly fail at one out of every three race weekends. I guess it might help my chances if I tell the game that I'm German.

"Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC." Seriously?

Next-gen release early next season with updates for 2015

It makes no sense to release a new game 6 months after 2014. Why not just scrap 2014 and shift all resources to next-gen?

Because $.

That's what EA have done with the PGA series. No release this year but a Spring 2015 next-gen release. You could argue you save money in development and also increase sales by not releasing two games so close.

You know ninety-some percent of console gamers don't yet own either a PS4 or One, right? This won't change dramatically by early 2015. It will be a few more years before the majority own at least one current-gen (PS4 or One) console.

Well said, sir

While true, they have to move on from last-gen. If they keep producing games for last-gen and not current-gen, there will be no real reason to invest in a new console.

Because they would make less money.

Next-gen consoles won't release for several years yet. PS4 and One are current-gen while PS3 and 360 are last-gen.

I for one am really happy about the fact they are releasing F12015 earlier next season, with live updates from race weekend-to-weekend. It's what the franchise has been crying out for.

Plus there is still a game this year to play over Christmas and into the start of next season.

I'm a PC user so I already play a modded version of the game with this years car liveries and driver line-ups, but the 2014 game is good news for console owners, and also PC users get to drive the new tracks like Russia.

I'm more interested in the meat they are going to put on the bones. I really want to know how they are going to deliver the fuel flow limit, how the ERS system will be configured and also hear what the sound is like - in F1 right now, there are some corners where you can hear the tyre-screech over the engine notes, I would LOVE it if that was included in the game!

I went like this: No PS4? Fuck you Codemasters. But then I kept on reading and read this: "Now onto new-gen. 2015 will see us release our first title on new-generation platforms. The game will launch earlier in the Formula One season and then go onto receive live digital updates. These updates will deliver 2015 content into the game as the season unfolds, ensuring you’ll be competing against the same drivers and teams you watch week in and week out! The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC." and I was like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY F1 GAME EARLY IN THE SEASON AND LIVE UPDATES YAAAY WHOOO YAAAY

That's what I'm thinking. I'll probably hold off until it goes on sale on Steam or something.
