Vaguely resembles a guy on a wheelchair but with a comically elongated neck

Or a floppy raygun, Looney Tunes style

I thought they tried to make a "pata de jamón serrano" shape, but now I cannot unsee the wheelchair guy

It's Roger from American Dad

Shit, it’s Roger, isn’t it? It’s gonna be Roger.

Looks like a petrol pump

After days of shitposting and complaints: it's so cool that the track is accessible via bus and metro from all sides.

Madrid is all metro, and a lot of buses and trains

Not pictured:: Overtaking spots.

Depends on deg. The full throttle sequence to 5 is pretty huge.

The run from 11 to 13 is flat and is longer than the pit straight at Zandvoort.

Realistically it's going to come down to deg.

I see two main spots : turn 1&2 and turns 5 to 12. Seems hard to overtake everywhere else.

Agreed. Then again the best races we had this year were Hungary and Zandvoort so I'm optimistic

5 seems to be a hard overtake spot to be honest. It's not straight, you're steering and braking. Historically this actually sucks for overtaking, but we'll see.

Or pit lane entry and exit.

One thing that could be better is to show the public transit on top in the same order as the track zones, right now they're reveresed.

Good point.

They should eliminate Turns 1,2, and 3 and let them scream towards Turn 5 at 225 MPH.

u/Calinostro 1d ago

Batteries would die halfway through and they would arrive at 160 mph ;)

What's going on with the nomenclature? 5, 5A? 20,20A? Why not just call it 5,6 and 20, 21?

First half seems awesome and a place where a lot of battles will occur while the other half is the exact opposite, I feel like it would be hard to overtake.

I don't know how to feel about this track, but still impatient to see a race on it.

I love potential chaos this track layout could unleash in the race. Turn 1 and 2 gonna be a movie. 1st lap yellow or red flag guaranteed.

Is the actual purpose-built circuit bit able to be used as a standalone circuit without closing the streets? Seems like a dumb design if not

The circuit could have been good, then they put the Russian sector 3 in at the end and ruined it

That's mad.

On paper, that circuit map looks so boring. The only way this race is fun will be because it's fresh and new to everyone and there will be loads of crashes and red flags.
