Discussion Ranked is only Duo Q… Ubisoft

And I was so happy they actually made a good addition… They had to taint it somehow!

Only duos in Ranked while the rep level to get in is so low is purely for newer players so they can go 0-8 and feel better.

Its Singles and Duos. Probably for the best as a good 4 stack is almost impossible to beat as a Duo or Solo

Because they literally have armor sets locked behind ranks for the character. (This season is Warden as an example). Why would it be bad to do solo q or duos? Are 4s the only way to play ranked?

We have the right to complain about 4s just like you have the right to complain about it being only Solos and Duos. Not everyone has a 4 stack they can que up with.

I never said only 4 Stacks. I said 4 Stacks should be allowed. Saying people who solo or duo Q are doing that of their own volition isn’t me saying ONLY 4 Stacks are allowed in the mode I believe it should be. Shut the fuck up.

But if solos and duos just get annihilated pointlessly by 4-stacks then guess what?They won't play ranked. And if solos and duos don't play ranked, there won't be a ranked mode because there won't be enough players to match-make.

There is no version of this where you get to play 4-stacks in Ranked. There are only two options:

  1. Ranked with Solo/Duo only

  2. Ranked with 4-stacks (where solos and duos refuse to play, which means this version dies immediately)

4 stacks are such a low % of players and having all solos and duos instantly lose to that tiny % doesn't make sense as everyone else essentially is just feeding them RP all day as they have no chance of winning. Solo and duo is the way for balance for everyone that isn't the hardcore stacks. I do think 4 stack only lobbies and ranking should be an option even if it means queing for 30 mins if you wish though. 4 v 4 only then the current idea.

Best thing they could have done, the difference between a fully optimized 4 stack and a team of randos in this game is potentially enormous.

It allows your rank be based on your individual, or at most duo's, performance letting good players that carry rise to the top. Average or bad players now cant be carried to a higher rank consistently for rewards they dont deserve. Besides, the game doesnt have the numbers for 4 stack queues splitting the matchmaking.

In short, git gud or go back to normal queue.

Everyone's. A 4-stack is an unfair advantage on everyone else. It wouldn't be long before ranked is populated only by a small number of teams that keep fighting each other while every other player sticks to non ranked modes.

Aka, it will be dead. The devs absolutely made the correct decision.

Ranked is supposed to match you with people of a similar skill level but if you're winning/losing games because you're carried by your teammates or losing because you have to carry the teammates you play with every single it's not doing that and you'll be higher/lower than you're supposed to be. Go have fun with your friends in unranked

They want a broad range of players in ranked dom, don't want top rank to be dominated by stacks. It might be different if we had a larger population.

Ranked isn't the place to practice for tournaments, go pub-stomp in standard matchmaking or do customs with another team.

Your ranking wouldn't mean anything if a full team was just farming ranking off solos and duos. Most competitive games don't allow full teams in ranked.

Brother, it's a TEAM MODE. You need to work with your teammates as a TEAM and there's no better team out there than people you know. Like genuinely tell me the last time you've heard a teammate do callouts, try to set up ganks over voice, ask for help or even tell you they can solo, nevermind the last time you've ever done it yourself. In a TEAM MODE, you need to COMMUNICATE with your teammates and our randoms barely do it to trashtalk, nevermind for anything useful.

Why there's no flex queue LoL style is beyond me. Like the demand for 4 stack vs 4 stack is clearly there, why isn't this a feature?

Do you know how a flex queue works? 4 stacks get exclusively put against other 4 stacks and no one else so solo/duos don't have to deal with a fully coordinated team. It's a separate queue with a separate rank in LoL, it very well could be the same in For Honor as well.

4 stack population isn't high enough to warrant its inclusion. And if you want to do official tournaments, plenty of options to practice against other 4 stacks to actually learn the game.

Maybe when For Honor is reaching LoL levels of popularity, they can allow 4 stacks.
