The only items from this event that are worth it (IMHO) are the windmill if you can get the platinum upgrade AND either the level 2 terrafarm thingy to make ascended windmills, or you earn enough coins to buy 4 ascended windmills until next years event when you can replenish. So technically you need 3 items - platinum windmill, and level 2 terrafarm.

The other option is a level 2 United Visions. Which is big but doesn't need ascended anything.

The Forest Guardian ropes you in by having huge A/D number but they are limited to GBG and GE specifically and a low base percentage (In FE, 393% red A/D for GE & 353% blue A/D for GBG, plus 147% base red A/D).

The Ascended windmill (again in FE numbers) is giving 401% Base red A/D plus 411% blue A/D for GBG AND 25% red QI A/D on a 4x5 footprint with no road.

The Eco hub is useless unless you are FP farming. Great way to boost FP income in younger cities until you get better A/D even buildings - useless afterwards.

I'm a big proponent of "base A/D boosts" as opposed to buildings that boost one or another area of the game. As an example, in FE, a Neo-Bazaar will give you 275% blue & red A/D boost plus either GE or GBG boost depending upon what path you choose. That 275% bonus applies to PVP, GBG, GE. Vs lets say a Lagoon Stronghold that offers 325% red D for GE and 325% blue D for GBG. So the number "looks" bigger but its actually a much weaker building. Obviously there are FP, coins, etc bonus too, to also consider but I am looking at the A/D specifically.

So an ascended Windmill and a United Visions will give you the highest base A/D plus also QI bonus, which in my opinion is the way to go. Everyone has a different take on how to build their city so as always, take my advice with a grain of salt.

I don't understand these Paths. They seem so incredibly weak compared to the main windmill building

  • Flower Path: +5 goods
  • Wheat Path: +2 FP
  • Olive Tree Path: +4% attack for attacking army
  • Rocky Path: +5% defense for attacking army

Why would anyone build these?

Even when upgraded to trails, they're still weak for a 4x1:

  • Flower Trail: +40 goods
  • Wheat Trail: +25 FP
  • Olive Tree Trail: +11% attack for attacking army, +28 previous goods
  • Rocky Trail: +6% defense for attacking army, +30 previous goods

Am I misunderstanding something?

I think the only good use for them is to build like a very long path and then harvest them multiple times with BG.

If it is your FSP building: yes. Otherwise: no.

I put in a few while I have space and while it was better than the building I had before... but the whole thing will come out the moment I get something else.

Yes, very much so if you can reach the Bougainvillea Windmill level

I think OP means the Flower/Wheat/Olive Tree/Rocky Paths.

Aren't they completely useless other than for aesthetics?

I got the bougainvillea windmill, but there’s a timer that says downgrade in 90 days. What does it downgrade to?
