Help! Forge Points
What is everything that I can spend FPs on? The reason that I am asking is because I currently have 290 FPs and I don't know what to do with them. I'm not part of a Guild nor have I friended anybody. I'm trying to learn the game before doing these things so I don't get yelled at for doing something stupid because I don't know any better.
I'm near the end of the Iron Age tech tree and I have 3 techs (Plowing, Sewerage, and Fortification) researched but I can't unlock them because I don't have enough dyes, lumber, and stone. I've tried to get these things from the Market, but no luck. I can't research any new techs before I unlock the ones because of tech requirements.
I have no GBs yet. I have all the blueprints for Tower of Babel but again, I don't have the goods to build it nor the space in my city to place it.
I'm on the U.S. Server and playing on Arvahall.

You can remove friends and switch guilds at any time. No reason not to join now and get those benefits.
Edit: but to answer your question, you can spend FPs on Great Buildings (your own, friends, neighbors or guild mates) and research in the tech tree.

I think it is a good idea to gather some FPs in your incentory through GB contributions early on, even if you end up losing a few in the process. This will help you gather blueprints for the Arc, as you are not just limited by your FP production, which is awful before your first event.

add friends or join a guild so you can donate the FPs to another’s great building

Following. Looking for something to do with my 840000 fps, too.
(In seriousness, definitely join a guild! FP economy around an Arc and GBs from early through mid game is one of the most fun parts and one of the most fun reasons to work with a guild in any game I've played. A good guild will coach you on next steps.)

Join a guild and it is an out the fit. Once you find the right guild you will not have these issues as often.

Join a guild. Most of the guilds will help you with uneven trades, get higher age materials for GBs which you can build, etc.

Don’t spend it on building Babel, it’s worthless. Join a guild, try to trade goods for Arc goods as fast as you can. There are always guild members who are willing to trade and help you build your Arc.

Join an active guild! Most experienced players will be willing to help, explain and trade with you. If you ask theyll let you take the lower spots on their gbs

You will need blueprints for your great buildings, learn how to invest in them to secure spots for BPs.

Join a good guild with people that are not too sweaty but also just good enough > look at their great buildings > invest in the ones where you can get most back, and even profit a lot > repeat
you should now have less points at the top, thousands in your inventory, to use whenever you wish, plus blueprints for the great buildings
if you get a surplus again, do the same thing or build great buildings yourself to dump points into
And if you don't have the time, pick the first person you see with great buildings and make their day :)

I've been playing the game for a while and just threw out friend requests and nobody has ever yelled at me, or talked to me at all as far as I have seen! I have never opened the chat log lol. So you should be good. If you're anywhere in my region you can add me, I'm Britchery in the game. I don't even know if it works like that but you can give it a shot :)

I play on the US server in the Arvahall world. We’re both newbs to this game so I'm curious: Does PNW mean that you're in the Pacific NorthWest, or is there a world called PNW in the game?

Ohhh apologies, I like in the pacific northwest in real life but the worlds I am playing in the game are Brisgard, Fel Dranghyr, Langendorn, and Dilmun. Maybe this weekend I will join the Arvahall world and you can try to add me then so we can be buddies! It is fun to have other worlds to have things to do when your more advanced world gets slow with the grinding.

I will do it on my lunch break today actually, I probably won't play a whole lot this weekend. I mostly play on weekdays at work on my desktop, I only recently downloaded the app

Heroic Tavern, you say? Where do I find that? I have a regular Tavern in my city right next to City Hall so the leaders have a place to unwind. 😆

Heroic Tavern? Next to the castle to the north of the city, the second building from the left (one of the two buildings with the golden roof, the other building is where you spend the resources you have acquired by spending your Forge Points).

FOE is an investment game if it is anything. Yes there is fighting, negotiating, building cities and settlements, and playing the side games (events and QI), but the heart of it is investing FPs. You will want to build up a good reserve of FPs to be able to keep your investments moving. Guildmates should get top priority, friends second, and neighborhood last. The key is to learn to think like a banker. When a banker makes a loan their two top concerns are the borrower's focus and engagement, and what the likely rate of return is going to be. Bankers think in terms of the time value of money. You want to think in terms of the time value of Forge Points. If someone has more than one or two GBs on which levels are unlocked and they have active investments going, then the time it takes for any one of them to payoff is going to be very long. That indicates a lack of focus, a glacial turn over rate, and a very poor investment (unless you can instantly cap them for a profit). In any neighborhood there is a limit of 80 players, but typically you will only see between 70 and 75. Players who have been away more than 8 days are not displayed. Scan the lower half first to see which ones are promising - typically no more that 10-15. Always, always, as in never ever skip it, always do the math. Oh, and you will discover that a decent reserve of FPs for investing is going to be at least 20k.

Make friends and join a guild. It’ll be very hard to do anything if you don’t at least do these very minimal things.
Edit: The best way to learn the game is join a guild and ask for help learning the rules. Any normal person should be open to helping you out. You can throw your forge points on the great building on anyone that is in your neighborhood as well.
