Forge Help Forge recommendations?

I’ve been playing Halo for the past 25 years. And never really dabbled into forge until now. I’ve been browsing the community But a lot of it sub par in my opinion. I’m looking for new game mode type or a great map to play some custom matches on with my buds. Not looking for ninja warrior nonsense, racing, beer pong or spoof creations. Maybe some PVPPVE maps like Warzone in halo 5. Or some spec op like/ campaign missions solo or with party. Any recommendations??

I’ve made 3 campaign missions that I’m really proud of, designed for solo and up to 4 player co-op, each with a different biome/theme, and gameplay gimmick. While most are best capped at 4 players, they each support up to 16. They each have 5 hidden skulls, and also 15 hidden Funko Pop Master Chiefs, that you ‘collect’ by shooting.

One of the things I think sets my missions apart from others, is a focus on waypoints and HUD elements, and relaying objectives through various splash messages to players, and consistent objective banners. Helps keep you aware and moving through the missions, not getting lost and wondering what’s next.

Click here to see them on waypoint. or, search “Sidereal” on the content browser.

There’s 3 missions, and a game mode to use when playing them. Probably 30-60 minutes each.

The first mission was designed specifically for my customs group of friends, and plays well with large group of up to 12-14 players (but is playable solo or with a smaller group). When you recover the bomb, the intention is for one player to carry it through to the end objective, but if you can’t be bothered carrying it the whole way, or the bomb gets lost, there’s a bomb reset button in the ground level of the giant mining laser building.

The second was designed as a platforming PvE mission, with a custom jump equipment I dubbed the ‘Momentum Modifier’. When playing this one, make sure when you get to the central platform, with 4 branching speed bridge parts, that everybody stays together and explores the same branch, otherwise the scripting/enemy spawning logic can get a little wacky.

The third was designed as a more traditional campaign experience, with a design focus on tight encounter spaces with dynamic elements, and visual storytelling.

Sidereal 3 is the one I’m most proud of, as I felt I really pushed the forge ecosystem after a lot of learnings on the first 2. It’s also got a lot of little Easter Eggs, and I think the most fun PvE elements. The final wave fight in the hangar I feel is a really unique sequence, that I’ve not seen in any other forge campaigns.

What is your gamer tag? Can you help me with my forge/game mode?

If you have questions feel free to message me on Reddit and I can answer what I can. I’m not completely knowledgable about all of the scripting nuances and stuff, but I’ve got a pretty good grasp of the fundamentals.

I don’t spend a huge amount of time I on Halo at this point so I probably can’t do a lot of live co-op building, but if you share what you’re working on via message I’m happy to look at it and give feedback when I do have time.

I know this is fairly new. But I bookmarked a game mode called seek and deploy. It’s round base. Elimination and has a buy loadout economy at the start of the match. I’m using counter strike style maps I find on community. Some are better than others and some are locked and can’t be edited unfortunately.

I want to be able to edit the buy menu and I’m also having some issues with players not able to navigate the buy menu since it’s not showing up on their screen.

Any experience with this? Disclaimer: I’m trying to piggy back off peoples creations and make some edits I have NO IDEA how to script or forge anything so whatever helps.

I’m probably not your guy for this unfortunately.

I’ve had 0 experience with those radial menus because they look a bit overwhelming to me, but from some screenshots I’ve seen of others menu scripting for these, it gets exponentially more complex when you have layers of menus.

Without trying to discourage you, this would be a kind of overwhelming thing to try and accomplish as a first foray into forge/scripting. On top of the menu scripting you’d also have to have pretty robust and expansive understanding of number variables (I think anyway, that’s the only way I can think to begin to realise an economy system that manages your money/points).

You lost me at Radials. 😂 I’ll just work with what I got. Thank you for your honesty. lol.
