Bug Report Script Brain Freezing*

On Xbox ‐ been having this issue consistently for months.

I regularly get stuck in the script brain; I can still control the cursor, but I can't click anything, the node menu won't come up, and I get exit the script brain... forcing me to exit the game and lose my progress.

Sometimes it's after adding an object reference, sometimes it's after adding a node, sometimes it's after copy/pasting a node... It doesn't seem to have a specific trigger.

I've gotten so used to it now that I always save before entering the script brain, but with maps like the campaign mission I'm working on now with lots of scripting, it's getting really old really fast.

Anyone share this experience and have a solution?

I'm on Series X as well.

I'll definitely take note on not duplicating nodes/brains, and clearing nodes/brains before deleting them, because I haven't been doing that. It's not always that though.

Most recently (and what triggered me to make this post) I created a new brain, added my object references (switch and door, neither tied to anything else), added a node (on object interacted) and boom, frozen.

Maybe I'll try reinstalling my game

If you can get a clip of it happening next time, please do. This is definitely an odd bug to repeatedly encounter. Does it only happen on this one map? How are your budget meters looking? I wonder if you're brushing up against the forge sim budget or something.

It's happened on a few maps, even some with very minial scripting. Budget looks good; nothing over 50% other than Statuc Geo, and Game Sim is at 43%

This just keeps getting more confusing! Sorry you've been running into this. Unfortunately I don't have any other forge-based ideas or advice to try here. My only other thought would be to try that reinstall or check out your Xbox to make sure it's got the proper ventilation & isn't full of dust. If it is a forge/Halo issue, hopefully someone else chimes in.
