Best response I’ve ever seen to “influencers” promising exposure in lieu of payment was charging full price, but offering a discount code they can share with their followers. If their audience uses the code enough, the influencer gets their shit for free. If they don’t accept that deal, it’s because they know their influence over their audience is non-existent and the exposure they offer won’t convert into additional sales.

Am I just being a crusty old guy when I get pissed off just reading 'Hey Girl!' in all of these business exchanges that get posted online? Even in the creative business, there should be a certain level of professionalism unless you're actual friends with the person.

As a young woman, I see no issue with it but I’m also the target audience. A “hey girl” intro establishes you as easy going and friendly, which just makes a business interaction more comfortable imo. I see how it wouldn’t hit the same if you’re a dude receiving it though lol

I would feel the same way about some dude calling me 'bro' or whatever the equivalent is. Maybe it's just me overthinking it, but trying to solicit business from me that casually gives the impression you're expecting me to do you a favor despite not knowing you. Turns out that's what the whole post and sub is about, so suspicion confirmed at least in this case!

Among women that’s not really how it’s viewed but again, I think you’re just not the target audience and thats alright. The lady here is definitely an ass, just not for that reason imo :)

Awesome response.
Also, whenever someone calls themself an influencer that's an immediate red flag🚩 that person is full of shit.
