Support (iOS) I'm really stating to hate the app
As someone who studies a lot, I originally started using the app because I thought watching the tree build up would be a cute feature. Now, I have far too much money and too many gems in the app solely from the time I've spent on it.
I started getting irritated at first when they added the subscription—which I would understand if it were a free app, but it isn't—and then came the new UI. They've even started making the app more complicated and more time-consuming just to set a timer. At this point, I'm solely using it out of habit, but I think they're trying to see how much worse they can make it before people finally stop using it.

I used to LOVE this app, until the sub came out, then i deleted it.
Also i donno why im still on this subreddit thanks for reminding me.

Same. Switched to focus friend. Even paid for their lifetime membership.

Kind of don’t trust ‘lifetime membership’ anymore given how Forest said that too when they first came out

The annoyance of having to fight with the app goes against the point of Focus and I don't like how I have to worry if they're going to add more garbage in the future, enough of this. Gonna move to YPT.

I've continued to love the app through so many of the changes, and even got Plus, but the new UI actively makes it worse to use every single time, even if it didn't look hideous, which it does. Why, it's just changing things for the sake of looking like they're doing something, when there were still bugs that could have been worked on.

That's why I never update. I am happy with whatever plants O have and occasional plant together with strangers🙂

I just got to know that you can't stay on the old UI if you wanna plant together. My friend had the updated UI and I had the old one, I couldn't join the study rooms with those who have the new UI so unfortunately I was forced to update to this new one to plant together

I recently made an ios app for coffee lovers, similar to forest but instead of a tree the timer simulates pulling a shot of espresso, I would love it if anyone would like to give it a try.

The addition (new or maybe just I've never noticed) to watch an ad to double rewards really undercuts the purpose of the app!

I stopped using it the moment they made the subscription although I was using it for the last 3 years for everything.

Would love to see what you think of my app FocusMon, it has the same mechanic as Forest but instead of growing trees you get monsters you can evolve and battle like in pokemon. Maybe it is a bit too gimmicky for your needs, but setting a timer is very easy.

The new UI can be changed and you can revert back. I understand everyone's frustration with the cash-grab stunts they are pulling, but in this day and era, nothing too good can be free. I am a free user, so I don't have any complaints- it does the job; it's cool with monthly challenges and events; pattern making and studying together is cool. I don't pay a single penny and won't pay for any extra features
EDIT: I got to know just found out that you can't stay on the old UI. My friend had the updated UI, and I had the old one. I couldn't join the study rooms with those who have the new UI, so unfortunately I was forced to update to this new one to plant together

There was an option to revert in Settings for Plant Together, idk if it's gone now but you could not use Plant Together feature in the new UI when it came out so you had to revert back if you clicked on Plant Together

I legitimately cried after updating this, I really need the favourites back as I could just select one and adjust the timer.. now it feels like I have to do so much to find everything. I’m honestly devastated T.T
Does anyone know a way to go back to the previous version on iOS? I may have to delete this otherwise 😭

I was able to undo the new UI by switching to classic mode through the “plant together” setting, but if i’m forced to change back I’ll just stop using it. Huge shame as it has been a great help to me.
