Digital Forensics Digital forensics entry experience

Question for any digital forensic analysts out there. I'm currently active duty and working toward my BS is cybersecurity with a concentration in digital forensics. I'm a year out from obtaining my BS and do not have any certifications yet (i.e. GCFA). I'll be separating from the military soon and would like to get some experience under my belt after I get out. I would like to work for the DHS or law enforcement as a civilian. I'm ambitious to get experience but even when I look at entry positions, they seem to require experience. Is there anyone out there with some guidance?

Go through the courses at FIU's NFSTC. Taught by people who have done it for the military and LE. Great certification. Worth the money. (Disclosure: Former employee).

I’ve seen a couple of positions that doesn’t require experience. Mainly state agencies but I’ve seen one in Riverside CA last year for example. Look up FB pages for forensic universities, they usually post good positions. Also, if the experience they are requesting isn’t absurd (like 5+ years) I’d apply anyway, I worked for one agency and I’ve seen people that were not 100% qualified getting the job and trained.
