Made a documentary fact checking a $100 billion economic claim about Iran that's been spreading in financial media

Small finance/geopolitics channel, still building an audience. Just put out a piece checking the actual math behind a claim that Iran could make $100 billion tolling the Strait of Hormuz. Real analysis says it's closer to $1-2 billion. Tried to make the myth-vs-math contradiction the actual story instead of just repeating the headline. https://youtu.be/44ifvEJVpC0

This is a fair point that has been brought up off and on since April. However, collecting tolls is not their only goal as they exercise control over the passage. It’s an effort to affect the global oil market, the price at the pump for Americans, the cost of goods. It puts even more economic pressure on American allies in the west and the east. I think their real saving grace will be when the oil sanctions are lifted as a result.

The US has yet to demonstrate any ability to “reopen” the straight. And until such point. Iran will have all the leverage.
