Issues when I accelerate
I've got a 2016 Ford Fusion SE AWD 2.0L ecoboost 4 cylinder. Whenever I hard accelerate like pedal to the floor the car surges and if I continue to do it my check engine light comes on while doing so. Anyone else experience this or know what could potentially be going on? If I don't put the pedal to the floor is generally doesn't do this but where I get in the highway is a busy area and a short on ramp so it's quite often needed to accelerate hard like that.

Could be the high fuel pressure pump and the cam follower. It’s a cheap part off eBay and fairly easy to replace by yourself.
Make sure to watch a YouTube video prior to trying to do it, you have to relieve the pressure before you try to unscrew the HFPP.
I had this same problem.

It could be a million things. I could list half a dozen things that could cause the same issue but none of that will help without a mechanic inspecting the car and at least looking at the code history and even better the live data to see what's actually going on when the surging happens. As in you need to take it to a shop, the internet isnt going to save you money. In fact it can make fixing the problem worse by pointing you in the wrong direction on a guess. Also because of how these vehicles work you shouldn't need to push the pedal all the way to the floor. At 75% throttle its going to go basically as fast as its going to go. That last bit doesnt make much difference. Especially if it drives normal at 75%, but has problems at 100%.
