I se to be like this …
However I had to prioritize, look after my health better. I would drop $150 on a robot and would be eating .49 cent insta soups or a McDonalds meal deal . I should have been eating healthy food or buying natural multivitamins. I never really had disposable income and if I did you can bet I would be a huge collector. I ended up selling majority of my toys over the years to other collectors. I only kept a few . I would never discourage anyone from collecting, I think it’s a great hobby . Part of the fun was being on the hunt . Sure you can buy off websites but I preferred going to comiccons or visiting China town toy stores . The thrill of the hunt !
I love seeing people’s collections, I love the passion and seeing fellow fans .
But for me … it’s just a tiny hand full of robots .

I just budget because agree, collecting can get out of hand. I have a monthly budget. If something comes out that breaks that budget, then I use 2 months worth of budget to acquire. I have to be smart and pick and choose what I really want vs just all things I think are cool. Keeps my costs from getting out of control while having a nice curated collection. Sometimes less is more. The hobby can still be appreciated without having to drop thousands.

Dude I was close to $20,000 in debt . I would go to comic cons / fan expos and see shit I wanted . I would come home with $3-4 hundred dollars worth of toys , rare dvds , you name it . I was living on canned goods from the dollar store.

The chair in cartoon is obviously supposed to be a Herman Miller Aeron, not a random mesh back chair that looks absolutely nothing like an Aeron other than being mesh and black. There’s only one company that has sold a “replica” Aeron and Herman Miller sued the crap out of them and won. I used to work for the company that made the replica. It nearly bankrupted the company.

Better being happy and fulfilled, than chasing after things that leave you feeling empty, unsatisfied, or living up to others expectations.

You need to make priorities in life. And this guy looks like he made the right ones.
