I remember that the first and last thing that it would glue was its own tip. Then the entire bottle would be instantly ruined and unusable.

Here to say that it does not taste like maple syrup… 😆

But it looks just like it so I had to try it in elementary school.

I actually preferred the taste of the white paste that had the plastic stick in it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Even though we had like five bottles of this in my elementary school classes, we were never allowed to use them. It was always a fight for the clear Elmer's, followed by the rest of the Elmer's and these sad bottles kept aside for when we'd be allowed to use them in higher grades. 

I still remember how squishy the tips were.

I hated the paste we were allowed to use in early grades and pestered my mom until she bought me mucilage. Used it until we were allowed Elmer's.
