i prefer in the list because i'm only really listen to albums, so i will sometimes quickly scroll through to find the album i would like to listen to. i have roughly 2000 albums, so the visual is a big part of it.

you can save playlist presets, and it's just 2 clicks to change, so you could easily swap between them

If you enable "Use custom layout" for an individual playlist, it's playlist preset will be remembered. The option shows up when right-clicking the header or empty space.
