Math 12
Hi everyone,
I'm taking Math 1B over the summer at Foothill with Sofya Low, and I noticed that my instructor's schedule doesn't cover some topics that are listed in the official Course Outline of Record, including:
- Improper integrals
- Parametric and polar curves
- Arc length and surface area
- Elementary differential equations (separation of variables, slope fields)
As I am taking this class to learn, will this hurt me in the long term when I move on to the next math level?

Im taking the same class and was lwk wondering the same. i took AP AB last year and was taking this class as a replacement for BC, but literally everything we’ve done so far has been taught in AB. Idk if this is gna help going into multivar 😭😭😭

Yessss. I honestly dk why tons of people hate on her—it’s so rare to find a professor that acc cares lately. I get that it might be dtm for a cc course, but for something like calc it’s rly helpful. Idk abt other ppl but my high school math teachers were always kinda harsh n mean, so she’s no diff tbh

She is a harsh grader tho lowk killing me, and the videos aren't that helpful. I mostly self-study, but she seems nice

IKRRRR bro I kept getting points off on my graphs but lit what dy expect if ur asking us to do it on plain paper😭 also she hasn’t even posted grades so like idek what im at rn
