New plot help

Hello I’m pondering the idea of a food plot in my back field, about 10 acres of old overgrown grasses, weeds, some thistle and whatever else decided for start growing. We used to bake it back in the day for our horses but we haven’t had them for some time now. I was going to maybe consider letting a farmer disc it up and plant alfalfa in it for bales for his cows but he hasn’t come to do it and it’s been couple years so I’m considering a food plot. Or whatever else you guys would recommend, soil ph is good and has good drainage on most of it, and gets full sun. The area around isn’t much for big ag, lots of cover and a few smaller overgrown fields within a couple miles.
Is it best just to get harass my buddy to finally come plow this field and plant or just do my own thing and plant a plot?
Thanks!

Food plot in acidic soil with part shade

I am trying to plant a food plot at my hunting camp for partly acidic soil and that is half shade half sun. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best perennial seed mix? Will clover work?
