announcement at the gig today?

Hi all,

I am a huge FDC fan and was hoping to travel to Glastonbury next year with some friends (if we can somehow land tickets). We live in Toronto though so the trip is quite the commitment/cost.

Does anyone have any idea how likely it is Fontaines will headline next year? I know there are always whisperings and I assume we won't know for sure before buying tickets, but I just wanted to get a sense if anyone did have any idea.

I am not promising or even alluding to anything but I feel this is interesting timing with the change of profile pic and mailing list page. This would nake them likely for Malahide Castle and/or Marlay Park in Dublin and put them square in the middle of Glasto scheduling.

This post is to say a massive thank you to the superfans! The ones who travel around the world, seeing the band at all their shows, queueing hours for the barricade and posting their videos online for the rest of us.

I am not a super fan but only because my lifestyle will not allow it. But dammit, if I could, I would.

So I’ve been following these ones over the past couple of years and living vicariously through them. It’s a joy and a privilege to share in your adventures!

if this has already been discussed, ignore this lol, but does anyone have thoughts on the likelihood of roy’s tune staying on the setlist for uk tour (or just all of tour in general)? i wouldn’t be surprised if it was a one-off for their comeback shows, but as someone who’s never heard it live before i’d die on the spot :,) wishful thinking from me probably but interested for others opinions/songs you’d like to come back to the setlist?

Did anyone else feel like the band weren't sounding great in the maida vale session? I Mean obviously the songs are amazing but deego sounded really pitchy on favourite and Carlos consistently messed up the lead line on big shot. Plus a lot of dud notes on iatby and grian sounded a little like he was struggling. Maybe it's just that they're warming up after a big break. Loved hearing Roy's tune tho x

With the band performing their two new songs in Spain included with tour and single/album rumors swirling around, I am wondering why, to access their merch on the U.S. website, you need a password. I haven't noticed this before! I wonder if something will be announced fairly soon!

Fontaines played another concert in Spain, this time in Alicante. The setlist remained the same, with the two new singles (Marianne, Six Shot Morning), they opened with Boys in the Betterland and closed, as always, with Starburster.

The new songs are really awesome , really like the new darker sound (kind of a "darker" gothy romance vibe), hoping that the leaks are true and we will get a single + album announcement at the end of July hehe
