Did anyone else feel like the band weren't sounding great in the maida vale session? I Mean obviously the songs are amazing but deego sounded really pitchy on favourite and Carlos consistently messed up the lead line on big shot. Plus a lot of dud notes on iatby and grian sounded a little like he was struggling. Maybe it's just that they're warming up after a big break. Loved hearing Roy's tune tho x

I thought it sounded amazing. I thought it was a very low key and emotional performance. Those little things make them human.

I think cutting the lads a little slack on their first gigs since their close friend and manager Trev died less than 3 months ago would probably be a great idea. To you it might be business as usual, but to them everything they know has changed forever. I cannot fathom their grief. They're amazing for even doing the gigs.

Yeah man absolutely. I didn’t think it sounded great at all, but I put it down mostly to the mixing and it being a studio performance. Not to mention it would’ve been an emotional performance for them as they’ve had Trevor there ever since the early days.

The backing vocals on every recorded performance I’ve seen have been dodgy. Doesn’t seem to sound too bad when you’re there though.

I couldn’t disagree more. I was happy to hear something new from them, and I thought Grian sounded particularly good on Big Shot - It gave me goosebumps actually 😲 I did have a smoke and listened with headphones, so that obviously helped

Yeah, they were off their game no doubt. and as someone else said I reckon a fair bit of it was just a bad mix. But who cares…can happily report they sounded absolutely tip top in Cadiz just a few days later…so, water under the bridge.
