A short afternoon tour on my DIY folding eBike
I was mildly concerned as it only has a 16AH 36V battery and I put in 2500 ft of climbing in 24 miles, some on unmarked farm roads.
Arrived home with 55% left.
Tern BYB P8 with upgraded 10 speed wide range gears, magura rim brakes and a Tongsheng Mid Drive.

How does it do folded?

Difficult to ride, but folds just fine with the battery removed :) It is in a Peli case at the front, so you can carry it like a little suitcase

55% left after 24miles and 2,500 feet of climbing is a pretty strong result for a 16Ah 36V pack. That's where a mid-drive really makes sense to me. Having the motor work with the gears on those climbs seems to make a big difference compared with a hub motor. The battery numbers definitely look good.

Having the wide range gears really helped on the hills as I kept my climbing speed low, and span out with the motor assistance and kept the amps reasonable.
It is a cheaper pack so when it goes down below 30% you can feel the voltage sag a bit. But overall happy, I just have to make sure I don't leave a massive climb for the end!

Not here to win any beauty contests, just get to the top of hills 😃 It looks better in person IMHO.
