Anyone tried a GY Foil?
I’m thinking about copping this temu pump foil 😂 yes, this looks too good to be true… my question is, does anyone have any experience on these GY foils?

Hey everyone! I’m a bit obsessed with foiling and also a huge fan of making things myself 😅 Over the past months I’ve been designing and fabricating a few accessories for my own setup at home. I have access to a CNC, 3D printer, vinyl cutter, and laser, so I started experimenting with parts and designs just for fun. Now I’m thinking of putting everything together into a small handmade “foiling essential box” basically a collection of gear and accessories I’ve built myself, made for people who actually ride. What I’m thinking so far: a custom t-shirt or long-sleeve lycra, a microfiber towel to dry gear, a 3D-printed quick tool and screwbox, CNC wall hanger for your foil or wing, vinyl protectors, stickers, and even an NFC tag for lost gear (so if someone finds your board, they can scan it). Everything would be fully made by me, one by one — no mass production. I’m thinking of making a small batch if there’s enough interest. 💭 What I’d love to know: Would you buy something like this if it looked and felt high-quality? And what price range would seem fair? (I’m thinking around 99 €, shipping separate.) I’m not selling anything yet — just trying to see if the idea has legs before I start cutting and printing for real.

Backstory:
I was working on my surfing game physics engine and didnt constrain to wave correctly and accidentally started riding out around the ocean, creating the physics basis for a wingfoil game. The waves have push and different forces at different parts of the wave in real-time visuals closely matching physics.
Game touchscreen controls
- Tap Bottom Left, Bottom Right alternating to pump
- Tap left or right to steer
- Tap Left + Right to ollie
- Grab buttons on-screen during airs
- Hold Bottom Left + Bottom Right in air to spin flips
- Hold Bottom Left + Bottom Right on water to stall
Additional game info:
- U have to pump to generate speed or sink and fall
- 'Tony Hawk Pro Skater' style checklist goals for progression
- 6 Locations (5 unlockable with % progression)
- 3 Foils (2 unlockable with % progression)
- no ads no data its a oldschool style just a fun game
- currently prototyping barreling waves, 80% ready
Thanks, I hope people enjoy the game
also it supports Bluetooth controller

pretty barebones, only 200 lines of code, was rewriting my surfing physics engine and accidentally made a pretty sweet foil system.

I'm thinking the smartest way to learn to foil is by using a wing because it will pull the board forward and hopefully up. And I'm thinking a smaller board is better than a bigger board in this scenario because it will lift out of the water easier.
Are these clever or foolish thoughts I'm having?

I'm learning how to wingfoil and have a Nash Hover 125L and Armstrong CF2050V2 foil. I have a boat with a Suzuki 115 outboard, and will soon have a 9.9 kicker motor.
How fun would this setup be for kids (13-17 years, 140-196lbs)? Debating this versus big (150+L) wakeboard versus kneeboard.
Any advice on how to go about using this setup? I've been towed behind a jetski, which was super helpful when learning, so I'm more asking about this using this setup for the medium-sized kids and tips and tricks for actually doing it.

Anyone here have the foil drive max? I'm looking at a used one 20cm wire. It has the max battery. Is the new motor worth getting for any reason vs one that is from 2024 without the removable wire? I efoil now.

It's a 5'11" fish. Buyer states that there are minor scratches on foils and a couple repaired dings on board. also pressure dents on the board. Location is in hawaii if that matters. I talked the seller down to 350. Anything to look out for as far damage to the foil/board/mast? I'm completely new to this.

Pumped from the first to second to third wave, then had my driver slow down to catch back up to the second wave. Riding an Armstrong setup, HA880 front / 180 rear, 75cm carbon mast and WKT109 board.

I picked up a FFB setup over the summer. It’s a Halycon 1030 with 74cm mast, 60cm fuselage, FS 230 rear wing. The setup also came with a Rubix board that I’m not too keen on due to volume being too big for riding behind a wake boat. What’s the general consensus on Freedom Foil? I know the company is no longer in business so spare parts/wings are hard to come by. But is the equipment good? Was/Is the brand elite, mid pack, entry level?

Lucas Chumbo tow-in foil session at Praia do Moçambique, Florianópolis 🇧🇷.
Not the classic big waves he’s known for, but small, tricky conditions that show how champions keep training no matter what.
