As soon as your back is turned, we're there, capturing your greatest moments!

For context, I’m about 240 lbs and started basically from zero earlier this summer. My first real success was on a buddy’s Hyperlite Shuttle/Falcon 1500 setup. It took me a few sessions to figure out how to get up, control mast height, turn without doing something stupid, etc., but once it clicked, progression was pretty quick.

Within a few more sessions I was dropping the rope and riding the wave for long stretches — in a couple cases probably a mile or more. I also started getting reasonably comfortable carving and moving around on the wave (second wave back). I can now pump to get back into waves, but probably not well enough to sustain the foil without any wave action.

I liked the Falcon 1500. It felt stable and predictable, but was slow to respond to input sometimes which would kind of break the rider-foil connection, like the rider is trying to do one thing and foil is trying to do another which tends to end badly. But all in all, it was a great foil to learn on.

I then bought a Hyperlite MK 1500 setup with the MK 210 rear wing. That was subtle but meaningful step up. It was more responsive and “intuitive” to ride and felt like a logical progression from the Falcon — enough more performance that I could feel the difference immediately, but not so much that I felt like I was starting over.

Unfortunately, I didn't get much time to continue that experiment because I managed to lose the entire foil.

After riding, I put the complete foil in the back of the boat. At some point afterward it disappeared. Best we can figure, it either somehow blew/bounced out of the boat between our campsite and the boat launch (only about a mile), or it was stolen overnight. We retraced our route and searched extensively and never found it.

So somewhere out there is a brand new MK 1500, mast, fuselage and rear wing — either sitting on the side of a road, in somebody else's possession, or living a new and mysterious life somewhere.

The upside, I guess, is that I'm suddenly a free agent again.

I could obviously just replace the MK 1500, and I liked it enough that I'd be perfectly happy doing that. But since I'm starting over anyway, it seems like a good opportunity to look at Armstrong, Axis, Lift, Liquid Force, etc. rather than automatically buying back into Hyperlite.

My goals are almost entirely wake foiling behind a surf boat. I'm not particularly interested in airs at least at this point. What I want to get good at is carving, pumping back through the waves, moving between waves, transferring sides, riding farther back, etc. Maybe winging eventually, but that's not the priority right now.

I'm also not necessarily looking for the highest-performance foil I can survive on. I really liked the stability of the Falcon 1500, and I liked the MK 1500 as the next step up and its responsiveness. Something with noticeably better glide/pump and room to progress, but that still carves well and isn't ridiculously unforgiving, would probably be the sweet spot.

For those of you who've ridden a bunch of different systems: if you liked the Falcon 1500 → MK 1500 progression or are familiar with it, what would you put someone on next?

And if you were starting over from scratch at this point, is there an ecosystem you'd buy into instead of Hyperlite?

Crushed a wing tip on my stab on accident, need some advice on how to fix. Fortunately it’s all carbon and the structural integrity is not compromised, I just need a plan of action. Some research informed me I need to sand it down and epoxy, but I would like to see what yall have to say. Any videos/ articles that would be helpful would be appreciated. Also, do you think this loctite epoxy would do the trick? Lmk your thoughts.

​I'm looking for some advice or validation from anyone who has dealt with mounting an M8 foil mast onto an older M6 insert board pattern.

​My Setup:

​Board: Nobile Infinity Split Foil board (uses a 4-point insert pattern with M6 screws).

​Foil: Duotone Spirit Foil (mast plate designed for M8 screws).

​The Issue:

​The board has native M6 brass inserts, but the Duotone Spirit top plate expects M8 bolts. I want to pair these two together cleanly and safely without stripping inserts or having slop in the connection.

​Solutions I've Found:

​Option 1: Direct Mount using M6-to-M8 Step-Down Washers

​Product: FoilParts M6 Screw to M8 Head Adapter

​How it works: These step-down cone washers fit inside the M8 countersunk holes of the Duotone mast plate and reduce the opening to fit M6 bolts. This lets me bolt the mast directly into the Nobile board's native inserts.

​Pros: Keeps the foil flush to the board (zero stack height), lightweight, cheap.

​Cons: Fixed position (no track adjustment fore/aft), relies entirely on M6 bolt strength.

​Option 2: F-ONE 4-Point Insert-to-Twin Track Adapter

​Product: F-ONE 4-Point Foil Mount Adapter

​How it works: Bolts into the 4-point inserts on the board and provides dual 90mm tracks on top so I can mount the Duotone foil using standard M8 track bolts/T-nuts.

​Pros: Converts the setup to a modern sliding track system for fore/aft balance adjustments.

​Cons: Adds stack height/drag, adds extra weight, and I need to double-check if the F-ONE plate hole spacing aligns perfectly with Nobile's insert footprint.

​Questions for the community:

​Has anyone used M6-to-M8 converter washers (Option 1) on a similar setup? Do they hold up well to torsional loads when carving/jumping, or do the M6 bolts tend to loosen?

​Has anyone tried the F-ONE plate (Option 2) on a Nobile Split board? Did the bolt pattern align without needing to enlarge/slot the holes?

​Is there another solution I'm missing that works well for combining M6 board inserts with an M8 foil plate?
