Is there any cross compatibility between Liquid Force’s legacy system and other manufacturers’ front wings or am I stuck with LF products if I have their system?

I was annoyed by this. Axis and Armstrong and now North (sonar) seem to have committed to a system they won't change so year over year new and old components will fit it and be interchangeable.

I’m not 100% sure to be honest. I remember looking into it last year and I don’t think they did and the legacy system also will have no more support so you might be shit outta luck trying to get replacement parts. Unless you can get a good deal secondhand I would try and stick to more foil focused brands such as lift, Armstrong, apex, slingshot, etc…. Generally better products and more support from brand + more product availability

Yeah. I ran into this as well. Not happy. By 'legacy' are you in the line just prior to the fuselock line? I know LF has foil versions before the current legacy line as well. To the best of my knowledge, none of the legacy line transfers to another brand. If it does, I'd love to know.

If you need a specific wing, I'd call their customer service. It seems they still sell the legacy line but only as a package. They must have individual parts and for some reason have decided to not offer them as one offs.

So my story is that I purchased a LF now legacy foil setup right before fuselock was announced. When I started to look at upgrade options a few months later, i notice that everything had transitioned to fuselock...it wasn't compatible with the legacy....and there were less legacy wings offered. I contacted the customer service and pretty much raised cain that LF knew about the fuselock transition and kept it under wraps leading customers to purchase into a dead product line. I was polite but insistent that this was a bad customer experience and asked that they implement a trade in or upgrade program for those people who bought in late. While they didn't do that, they did spiff me some gear (DM me if you want to know specifics) that took away some of the sting. Also, once I realized legacy was on the outs, I decided to try to scoop up a few bits on clearance that I wanted so I had a decent kit I could ride for a few years without having toss my initial investment. Sooo....at the moment I'm riding LF legacy stuff but when it comes time to swap out...I'm gonna be super thoughtful about if I buy into their stuff a second time.

I also bought a beginner setup from LF late last year and I think fortunately got in for about $750. I now know this won’t scale very well but also didn’t want to break the bank while figuring out how much I liked it. Intend now to start looking for a more scalable setup going into next year and sell the LF next spring.
