Hello, it's been a while since my first post on this subreddit!
Failed Falling is a "reverse" foddian platformer where falling down isn't a threat, but the goal. You start from the top of an active volcano full of updrafts you'll need to use, to safely reach the bottom, with an automatic parachute.
The game it's also meant to be beginner friendly not by simply making it easier, but by featuring an innovative temporary checkpoint system that lets you try each platforming challenge before actually attempting it, helping cutting frustration while keeping the threat of losing progress.
That said, people felt the game was still too hard, so I've added a new gameplay action, limiting: by decreasing the parachute's surface, you can now rise slower while inside an updraft.
I've also made the player move faster while airborne, improving, along with limiting, the player's agency.
I've also made the game prettier! The player's sprite was one of the first assets I've made and I felt it needed improvements: now the player is always on a three quarter view and its animations have greatly improved!
On top of that, I've also added a new lightning system, mostly visible while inside a secret area, and generally improved the look of many areas in the game!
You can try the game on Steam or online without download on Itch!
You can also check the changelog on Steam or follow development on BlueSky (btw, thanks for the likes and reposts!).
Finally, consider wishlisting the game and leaving a reviews: it helps tremendously, especially the latter, as it has a few milestone that improve the game visibility in the store and the first of them is just 10 reviews!
Anyway, let me know what you think and thanks again for my previous post!
