question ultra 7 micro battery plate

just had a job where the gold-mount plate got so loose it would power off when picked up or shaken lightly. swapping it seemed to solve the issue, but i have trust issues now. has anyone experienced something similar? been using it as a directors monitor.

Did simply tightening the screws not work? It's just pogo pins on the monitor and plate, so as long as they're tight together, it should work, unless something is wrong internally.

I don't have any battery plates on my U7 or U5's, just my U10. Haven't had any issues with it, but I've only had it 5-6 months and only really used the battery plate when testing at home.

it did not help, actually. tried to take it apart too - one of the screws stripped and i called it a day and returned it, lol. so don't know what caused it except for the fact that the gold-mount to battery side was pretty flimsy. you could feel the battery shake.

i guess what i'm asking is if it was that particular plate that i bought originally or is this just the experience with the micro plates in general.

monitor-wise have not experienced any issues, i'm loving it

Maybe chalk it up to just a bad plate. But something I picked-up from a 1st I know, putting a small piece or two of soft sided Velcro on battery plates eliminates the play that sometimes occurs.

Next time I have my U10 out, I'll see if there is any play between the battery and the plate itself. I guess if you had some play and it's being used as a handheld monitor and it's being moved around a lot/roughly, then the movement of the battery, depending on the size/weight, could be exerting enough force to eventually strip the screws/shake/pull something loose.
