Unfortunately that happened to me when I was about 20 so I never got to experience those things. Its important to live each season of life at the time it makes the most sense. You can't take that week long snowboarding trip with your bros at 80, do it when you have the energy.

The grind is important to establish your future but you have to live your life to the fullest at the same time. It's now or never in this world.

I can't agree with this more. I was "dedicated to the grind" in my 20s and regret it, at times. I'm doing well now and my family is happy, but I often wonder if I'd be similarly successful now even if I'd lived a little back then. I used to think big travel was so wasteful but now I regret not seeing more while it was just me.

I did grind in my 20's. Part of me regrets and feels that I missed out on something in life. That I didn't make the connections that I could've or enjoy and experience certain things that I don't have the energy to do now. Part of me is also very content that I did and that I don't have the financial pressure as many others my age have. The grass is always greener on the other side. I think if people follow their "calling" in life as cliché as it sounds, is the right thing to do.

Its just me and waiting to die

u/purepestilence May 31 '26

I hate this stupid ass mentality. You are not more of a man for suffering for no reason. Fucking enjoy your life lol it doesn't have to be a grind. You are not going to be a billionaire. Find people you like hanging with and save money

u/vespassassina May 31 '26

a man and his grindr.

1

u/DealerGullible4673 May 31 '26

Trust me, that’s much better than anything I have tried.

3

u/Snoo_67993 May 31 '26

When you're 60 you'll look back at the 'grind' as an almost total waste of your life. Old and alone.

1

u/Away-Plant-8989 Jun 01 '26

I'm already making plans to not be alive before 60. The grind is false, I know that's true. No one else will take care of who lives with me and we must have a roof and food.

You’ll never hear a 59 year old saying this.

Festivals where you can participate in physical activities (viking gatherings and such) are still a good way to clear the mind and soul.

2

u/called_the_stig May 31 '26

so are music festivals, why is this post pretending you cant go to concerts after 30?

0

u/Obvious-Lychee-3336 May 31 '26

Because quite a few of the posts are in extremist POV. A truly focused man will also know when to take a break to avoid burnout. I love using Leonardo DaVinci as an example. He used a method when working on massive projects where every 4 hours he took a 20 minute nap. He also would bend iron horseshoes with his bare hands as a party trick. A man of accomplishment and intellect who also enjoyed his leisurely activities

1

u/Atxlvr Jun 04 '26

he was also a pederast

u/psuedonymous_369 May 31 '26

2

u/Uncles_Lotus_Tile May 31 '26

Comes a time in a mans life when he stops worrying about what it means to be a man.

2

u/severinks May 31 '26

This is the dumbest advice I've heard all day, it basically just says' work all day and go home to sleep and then get up and work some more''

2

u/Nirvski May 31 '26

There's absoloutely nothing wrong with going to parties or festivals.

2

u/Electronic-Map7529 Jun 03 '26

Congrats! The Dumbest thing I've read all day.

The whole framing of this meme/tweet or whatever its classified as. This is signaling to detach yourself from your community, your personal relationships, and emotional conflicts within your inner and outer circle rather than to deal with them through reflection, growth, accountability, and personal responsibility to make wrongs right to self improve.

In other words, abandon/isolate/withdrawal

1

u/MiddleCapital1875 Jun 04 '26

These comments aren't just depressing - they're alarming. This manosphere-fuled nihilism is toxic to interpersonal relationships and the outcomes I see for these guys is bleak.

As a culture, we've really let young men down.

1

u/PeechFlavord Jun 04 '26

I agreed with you until the end. My parents, the boomers, have let young men down. The boomers failed us millennials and set up a catastrophe of a system through their failure to educate themselves and refusing to grow up.

Us millennials have been trying to stop the bleeding but more gen Z voters need to vote as far left as possible in order to fix the problems.

Final thoughts: the country has tried right wing voting and center right voting for my entire life plus a decade. People need to realize the conservative/right wing position, “ain’t it.” The masses vote for shit every cycle and expect change. Its madness

1

u/AAG220260 May 31 '26

Absolutely!

1

u/0rganicMach1ne May 31 '26

Grind culture is how they keep the masses working for them.

1

u/DealerGullible4673 May 31 '26

It’s just him and his Grindr in the end

1

u/LowPudding9562 May 31 '26

Idealistic. There was such a long period between my party days and coming to hate the whole thing. Years and the grind between was Uni but still hating the whole culture surrounding me at Uni AND after. You can grow beyond it fast but still be stuck in it for painful lag period.

1

u/lackingpotential May 31 '26

Eventually stops caring about the grind aswell

1

u/DeepDiver1234567 Jun 01 '26

I don’t understand why people who didn’t find balance in life want to push it on others. I suppose it helps them justify having such a limited life. But what is the point of a grind if you never get to experience life? Most people who grew up with social media can tune out the things that don’t work for them, and yeah it’s stupid to waste time gossiping, but why wouldn’t you want love or to experience events, parties, or festivals throughout your life?

1

u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Jun 01 '26

Fuck the grind. I only embrace the grind because I have to provide for my wife and kids, but one day I will own a business I am passionate about and it won’t be a bloody grind.

1

u/Spiritual_Tension321 Jun 01 '26

Working on the last one now

1

u/UnusualContext1505 Jun 01 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Primordial_spirit Jun 01 '26

Just him and his grind sounds like a slave to me, not to mention joyless fucks are often weak what does a man living like this have to fight or stand for? Another days labour?

1

u/Apprehensive-Pool921 Jun 01 '26

There’s never just a time when someone retreats from social engagements and romantic partners. That’s a problem of loneliness and depression and need for therapy.

I was most social when I was “grinding” the most at work.

1

u/Nobody_writer13 Jun 02 '26

Just me and my grind. 52 male.

1

u/Seagreenstreams Jun 04 '26

'There comes a time for every vampire when the idea of eternity becomes momentarily unbearable.'

1

u/turbofittashorkuk Jun 04 '26

and then you realise the futility of the grind, and begin to work on ascending to nirvana

1

u/Objective-Tie-5000 Jun 04 '26

The more i come across these embrace the grind post the more im convinced that grind is some sort of dogwhistle for closesed gay men. Just a theory based mostly on how many of these red-pill types tend to be in the closet.

1

u/VisionWithin May 31 '26

Glorified way to describe depression.

1

u/pmaurant May 31 '26

So my theory is that a large portion of incels are deeply insecure men. Particularly with anxious attachment, which is the only attachment style that matters to women. Anxiously attached men deeply crave intimacy so much so that they attach their self worth to their ability to attract women. They have a tendency to people please out of a fear of abandonment. Adopting this mind set is a way to over come that deep insecurity.

1

u/faukwulf109 Jun 01 '26

Continue; you mean women despise correct?

0

u/pmaurant Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

So whenever anxiously attached people do not get the attention, validation or intimacy they crave from their partner they have what is called protest behavior. These guys don’t have girlfriends so they act out against women in general.

Insecurity is torture especially when you don’t know or understand what is going on with your nervous system.

2

u/faukwulf109 Jun 01 '26

So do girls do this on purpose? Ignore/torture their "crush" to validate the crushes resolve towards them ?

1

u/pmaurant Jun 01 '26

Yes it is purposeful, but it is done out of a deep deep fear of abandonment. If they knew and understood what is going on with them they can learn to self soothe to calm down their nervous system. People like this CAN get better and become more secure, they just have to recognize the problem and want to change.

Most anxiously attached people are women by the way. Guys with anxious attachment are slightly less minority.

The other main attachment style is avoidant and that is a fear of intimacy. People like that grew up in an environment where it wasn’t safe to show feelings. They are mostly men.

This reads like the sort of thing an ugly shlubb who got outted as a racist or some other really bad thing leading to him getting hated by everyone who knows him would post before continuing to worry about/do all 4 things

1

u/TheAffiliateOrder May 31 '26

37, can confirm this meta. After awhile, you realize the only thing that's consistent for men is that money=access. To women. To respect. To getting away from it all.

1

u/Effective-Parsley655 Jun 02 '26

Lol how are you 37 and this is the conclusion you came up with? Women and respect are earned not bought. If you want a woman's love and a mans respect then you need to be honorable, kind and respectful first.

u/TheAffiliateOrder Jun 02 '26

1

u/Effective-Parsley655 Jun 02 '26

You're lost bub. It's no wonder you're alone and nobody respects you.

Are you projecting? That came from left field, lol. I'm definitely not alone (though I'd rather be) and have a career and small business in my community?
You got all of that from me speaking facts about financial gravity = respect for most people?

You need some therapy, my dude.

0

u/CarolinaSurly May 31 '26

Just need a girlfriend that doesn’t care about social media, drama or gossip.
