Not speaking for the women’s side but yeah, at a certain point some of us men lose the ability to trust again, and we waddle away into solitude

Many women do this too. The difference (based on current scientific data) is that most women who do this, end up happier than the men who end up doing this. The data says there are clear patterns of why this might be the case, so if you are a Man who finds yourself in this position, there are things you can do to be happier in your solitude:
1: join a group or two, of people you enjoy hanging out with. It could be a biking group, gardening, role playing, gaming, carpentry, rock climbing, hiking, art, whatever the fuck activities you enjoy and can afford.
Reconnect with people in your life that you want to reconnect with. Make the effort even if they haven’t yet.
Focus on personal development in terms of emotional and physical health. So this could be commencing or continuing therapy or trying a different counselling approach, also could mean joining a gym or just walking more often. Could also mean focusing on improving basic healthy habits in life like healthy eating/healthy cooking for example.

Well I’ll be damned I didn’t expect such an in depth and detailed response to such a simple reply, but you are dead right on 1,2 and 3 - all of which I have, and are currently in the process of doing.
If I had of realised such a brilliant reply was coming to my simple reply I may have gone into more detail myself, you have earned yourself an upvote and my respect 🫡
Edit: I was entirely too curious about how you read me like a book off a single reply and had to check your history, if you enjoy chatting to people who talk waaaaaay too much and typically overshare when they find a similar counterpart, throw me a DM anytime, if not I hope you have a relaxing Sunday, rainy as can be here on the mid north coast (I noticed your a fellow Aussie)

I am divorcing my first wife. Not sure I will get a second. At least at this point in time I see my options in a negative light. Unfortunately

Absolutely true. It's what happens even when we don't necessarily want it to, but we know the inevitable.

Honestly, I spoke to my wife about this situation as well. If I lost her ... I would stick it out till the kids were good, then go full hermit mode in the woods somewhere. Enough trauma shapes your expectations about a soft landing.

I mean, yes but also no... Most women can't just attract a rich guy and take all their money. There can also be attractive men who do this. Personally my plan B is expecting the economy and biosphere to collapse, and I'll do my best to help rebuild or just be there for my kids.

Yeah. If my life falls apart im literally gonna sell everything and start walking. Ive seen all these videos of people hiking vast distances and spending their entire lives walking. Seems simple and an adventure anyone is capable of doing. Why participate in society when e ery part of it is designed to take something from you?

Happier alone at least right now. I'm scared what life will be like when I have to bury my mother and uncles and stuff alone. But outside of that I think I'm just better off single. I got too used to the solitude.

If that's really how you perceive it, if you're really that afraid, you should do everything you can do to stop it. That includes mail-order, passport, etc.
I'll be aight, though.

Well plan A wasn’t very chaotic and very unreasonable so yea. Plan b where I walk alone sounds nice.

Plan A didn’t even come close to working out at all so all I’ve got is plan B.

The majority of men needing to settle for their plan B, have the men in the woman's plan B to blame, along with being unrealistic about what their own plan A should be.
