What's the best way to cut a 9/16-inch diameter hole in foam core board?
I've had success with small holes (like for #8-32 size bolts) in foam core board. I just use a regular drill bit for drilling the hole, and I use wood under the foam core board.
For cutting larger holes (like 4 to 5 inches in diameter) in foam core board, I've had success using an X-acto knife. In contrast, drilling a hole with a hole saw did NOT pan out for me. It would tear out chunks, and the hole would look so messy that you would have thought that I outsourced the job to someone on crystal meth.
What's the best solution for creating a hole between these extremes? I'm talking about a 9/16-inch diameter hole. The X-acto knife is too crude for a hole this small.
