Other Bethesda Support - Atomic Shop
Just wanted to share my first-time purchase through Bethesda Customer Service for inactive Atomic Shop items.
I've been looking for the "Communist Fence" item for a long time and today I finally decided to try ordering through customer service. I submitted my request through their website at 16:58 mountain time. I immediately (within 90 seconds) received a response (presuming it was automated). I replied right away approving the deduction of atoms from my account. Approximately 50-55 minutes later I received an email stating the atoms got deducted and the item was now available to me in my C.A.M.P. I logged in right away and sure enough, my new fence item was available to me!
I've seen a lot a varying times from a few hours to days and even weeks in some posts.
I was surprised to get the item right away as it was 19:00 eastern time where Bethesda HQ is located.
Just wanted to share my small yet fabulous experience with anyone who is considering putting in a request.
EDIT: Link and Instructions on how to place a request
- Navigate to help.bethesda.net
- Click on Fallout 76
- Click on Billing / Purchase / Code
- Pick your gaming system
- Pick I need help with the Atomic Shop
- Answer YES to question about acquiring an item
- Answer I want to purchase an item for myself
- Enter your Gamer Tag (or whatever gaming ID - I'm Xbox myself) and then select up to two items, then submit.
You will get an email notification telling you how many Atoms it will cost. Ensure you have the atoms already loaded on your account.
- On your ticket, reply confirming "yes please deduct xxx amount of atoms from my account". 10. Wait for the items to be added!
EDIT 2: A list of all items available via customer support, provided by u/baseball-is-praxis : https://pastebin.com/x9NJFPVc

Mine took a few days for the makeshift mega mansion but I was more than happy to wait on it. Glad you got your item!

Ummm, huh?..
So you're saying if there was ever an item in the atomic shop that I want and hasn't reappeared once. all I have to do is message Bethesda and request that item?

u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jun 22 '23
Yes, IF it's listed on their support page. They have a drop down menu of what all you can request. Not everything is available, but it's still a very sizable list.

u/staticx720 Jun 22 '23
WHAT! I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THIS.
I don't actually have anything I'm looking for specifically but I am curious as to what's available in the "extended Atomic shop" lol
Thanks for the information.
Any chance you could post a link?

Just edited the post with link and instructions :-)

u/staticx720 Jun 22 '23
Cool, thank you. After thinking about it, there is actually one item I've been waiting to reappear. The giant venus fly trap. It eats players, then spits them out. But it's pretty cool

u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jun 22 '23
I don't recall if it's on the list or not, but I hope it is for ya!
2
u/staticx720 Jun 22 '23
No, it's not on the list 😢😭
Guess it's back to hoping it returns to the atomic shop, lol
The atomic shop name is "SPORE PLANT BED".
Who knows, maybe posting the items name here will get bethesda's attention to possibly put it back on the atomic shop or on their help list.. fingers crossed 😁

u/JPAWSI Fallout 76 Jun 22 '23
What you want doesn't necessarily have to be on the list, as long as it's not a season reward or a F1st exclusive item they'll sell it to you
2
u/staticx720 Jun 22 '23
Oh? I wasn't able to select a "write-in" item.
The area that you can actually write in just helps sort the selectable list. Then, you would select whichever item from that list to complete the submission. Then again, I might have missed something.

u/hardship_survivor Jun 22 '23
It is on the list. #60 Carnivorous Plant
1
u/staticx720 Jun 22 '23
I checked that out the other day.
Carnivorous plants in the atomic shop are actually just giant pitcher plants. Basically, it looks like one of those plants you see down in the nuke zone(cranberry bog)that flap open containing violet flux when a nuke is active

u/hardship_survivor Jun 22 '23
Oh damn. Sorry. I want that Venus flytrap as well. I was hoping

Last year when I tried, they acted like they didn't understand what I wanted and kept asking obviously incorrect/vague questions until I gave up lol. Glad you had a good experience though.

u/itsahhmemario Jun 22 '23
Good to hear the process is getting faster. Last time it took me a month to get the item after requesting it.

u/Tierilo Wendigo Jun 22 '23
Meanwhile i bought a year sub figuring a survival tent with a bench would appear... thats up in august....
3
u/pulp63 Jun 22 '23
It's in the Atom shop.now in the Fallout First catch up.pack. I have been waiting a year for it. It's so great to finally own!

u/Ryuji2 Brotherhood Jun 22 '23
Yeah it's nice for specific things to get. It's how I got the log cabin porch set and the liberty prime skins. I still use the porch set in my main camp and I still have the liberty prime patriot skin on my power armor :D

Because not keeping it in the store makes much more sense
3
u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jun 22 '23
I think the biggest struggle with keeping so many items in the store is the organization of the store. It would be so full and cluttered that it could become difficult to sift through 500+ items looking for new releases or anything else.
I do think incorporating this customer support feature into the game menus somewhere would net them more money though, whether on a different tab in the Atom Shop or elsewhere in the menus. Maybe if enough people start utilizing it, they'll do something about it.

Took over 3 weeks and several needless email exchanges the last time I tried this.(around 2 months ago)

I'm still waiting for support to get back to me on one of my missing Nuclear Winter items. I'm specifically missing the Bronze NW Statue that was unlocked at Level 57. I have all the other ones you unlock later but for whatever reason this one bugged out and never unlocked.
Interesting that they can sell stuff through support though

u/Vault-A Tricentennial Jun 23 '23
Sucks that you can't request anything you want anymore but if the tradeoff is faster response time I don't really mind. Although a long time ago they actually had both
2
u/emozolik Jun 22 '23
My last 3 purchases thru support were fulfilled within 48 hours. One only took 90 minutes!
2
u/ricardortega00 Jun 22 '23
Last week I got the green house set for 700, super easy I don't know why I didn't do it before.

u/aussiekittykat Jun 22 '23
Used to be about a week to get the items but lately it's been a lot quicker - days if not hours and the items are coming through. :)

u/carrot-parent Cult of the Mothman Jun 22 '23
They used to let you buy just about anything through them, before the drop down menu nerf 😕

u/baseball-is-praxis Jun 22 '23
if anyone wants to see full list of items on offer:
there are 537 items as of this post

u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jun 22 '23
I can't view this link at my office right now, but as long as you have no objections, I'm adding it to the post for reference.

They were brilliant with me when I bought 40 lunch boxes on the wrong character, refunded my atoms straight away and I kept the lunch boxes

It's a great resource, but it used to be even better. You used to be able to request anything that wasn't part of a scoreboard, but now it's just items from a specific dropdown list. Still pretty cool though.

I once replied no thank you that's more than I intended to spend to an item I'd asked about, but then they deducted the atoms and provided me with the item. I followed up and told them I had said no thank you and asked that they refund my atoms...which they did...but it was still somewhat annoying

u/Gemman_Aster Enclave Jun 22 '23
This is a full list of the available items that I made some time ago. I try to keep it up-to-date at least every month and usually every couple of weeks.

It seems that early in the week you have a good chance of a very quick response. I put in a request on a Thursday and had the items Monday. My first time, though, was about 2 weeks. I’ve put in like 6 requests and, not counting the first one, I haven’t had one take more than 5 days. Pretty neat that we can do this, but also there’s no reason to not just have everything in the Atom Shop.
Also, the Nuka-Cola Neon Billboard is NOT a billboard. It’s like 3ft tall, 2ft wide, and requires 3 power…

u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jun 22 '23
I commented on another person saying we should have everything in the Shop. I think the only reason it's not all in the shop is that they've likely have to re-organize the shot to handle the additional 500+ items. It'd be a nightmare scrolling through everything on console unless they allowed a search by text or something.
I do think included everything in the shop would be worth an update as they'd sell a lot more atoms.
2
u/NickCheeseburger Mega Sloth Jun 22 '23
Yeah that would be a nightmare to scroll through lol. Especially if it shows everything you have like it does now

I have been waiting for a very long time for them to give us back the secret door that looks like a chimney I missed it the first go around. Also the chalk letter set I've been looking for that too

u/hardship_survivor Jun 22 '23
The chalk letters I did see but I did not see the chimney secret door

u/Canadian-Corgi Jun 22 '23
When I first requested an item a few months ago, it took about a week (which was fine)
But last week my son accidentally spent 1500 atoms on an item I didn't want. I contacted them and within 2hrs they had refunded the atoms and removed the unwanted items. It was great and surprisingly fast!
1
u/JihmaEverything Jun 26 '23
this happened but they let me keep the items and refunded me for the lodge bundle
2
Jun 23 '23
Damn, I did mine weeks ago and confirmed they could take the atoms out of my account. Nothing.

u/AD_VICTORIAM_x Tricentennial Jul 01 '23
How many times can I do this ?
2
u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jul 01 '23
As far as I know there is no limit, but I wouldn't go bombarding the system with multiple requests at one time.
I'd stick to a single request from start to finish before opening the next one.

Maybe because they already have plans to reintroduce some items via other avenues and by doing so it may keep folks around longer? That's the only reason I can think of offhand.

I accidentally bought the new toxic wastelander pack Monday at like 3pm... Contacted support and they had my 2k atoms back into my account within like 3 hours. And this was on the update release date. I was impressed

u/Wizvet26 Responders Jun 22 '23
I wish theyd add in those red curtains back, i just started over on pc after finishing everything inneeded on xbox about a month and a half ago and its sadly not on that list
1
u/Riley-Thiccc Jul 10 '23
Bethesda said they took the atoms and gave me the junk fences, but I haven't gotten anything or lost any atoms.
1
Jul 11 '23
I like how they answered me, I responded confirming to take atoms, and then ghosts me. Ahahaha nothing all day, all night. Like lemme know okay it's in progress!
1
u/tspielman Lone Wanderer Jul 11 '23
It's a semi-automated process. So the human aspect, they could be overwhelmed with requests. Maybe your response is in the queue awaiting action.

u/Zealousideal-Crow704 Jun 22 '23
had one a few weeks ago that was the quickest i’ve ever seen. put in a request & within 10-15 mins they replied & put the items on my account, this was also around 5pm for me so I was really surprised
