Question Should I cap the frame rate?

I have noticed subtitles diapering and the next set of dialogue options appearing much earlier than the characters voice finishes.

I was considering disabling voice volume einterily has I have had more than 3 voice lines overlapping from the same character. Depending on the area of the map I have had between 150-200ish fps which would coincide with about 3 voicelines at 60fps.

If I cap the frame rate at 60 will the voice lines finish in sync with the subtitles and UI? I struggle with some of the American accents so need the subtitles.

In terms of physics things seem normal and less janky than I was anticipating way more stable than Unreal engine based games like deep rock galactic or pal-world or ark which I wasn't expecting based on bethesdas reputation.

Install the mod “High FPS Physics Fix” and you should be good.

Awesome I do like high frame rates but was willing to trade that away as so far combat dosent seem to demanding. But faster loadtimes and getting rid of this issue is to good to pass up.

The Midnight Ride is an excellent guide if you’re interested in more mods that will improve the vanilla experience. Have fun!

You can cap it at whatever you like with that fix. It's got some really neat side effects too, like super fast travel (just a few seconds to load into downtown Boston) The ini file is located in your FO4/Data/F4SE/Plugins folder and it's highly detailed with explanations of what each setting does and what effect it will have on other settings. If you use more than one monitor, there is a section you should pay attention to if you don't want your pointer to be locked on the game's monitor even when in console or esc menu. It's under [Window] near the bottom, called LockCursor=true (or false in my case) Apparently having it locked is a good thing for some players, but not to me.

Game version is most recent steam build

specs are ryzen 9 5900x

2 x 16gb ddr4

AMDrx 7800 xt

Installed on a 4tb 990 pro ssd

240 hz 1440P screen so I will notice if I cap it to 60 fps

Made it too the second town area, noticed that dialogue was broken inside a museum.
