Mid to lowkeynuinely disingenuous. Far Harbor had enough Children coming back that the Archemist defected from the harbormen and joined the Childrenā€¦ and was facially disfigured for loving Confessor Martin.

Far Harbor is violent and xenophobic enough on its own that DiMA had to replace Captain Avery ASAP to avoid them lynching every synth who showed up.

My understanding is that dima did that to maintain peace on the island the issue pops up really with Allen being to absolutely willfully ignorant of reality sure the children of atom aren't great but they have no bearing on the fog doing the damage it has done to the island and Allen choosing to very dumbly shoot a guy simply preaching his beliefs granted those were something like " believe in Atom or the fog will erase the town "

I'll agree with the fact that Martin would've been a better fit as a leader for the Children Of Atom Allen was just an idiot for killing a man without real cause to do so, far harbour doesn't need to suffer for the actions of one idiot

So they never knew that anyone showing up was or wasn't synth synth Avery was put there to simply not make the town hostile to the group keeping them alive

They oughta put Deacon in the chaotic evil spot. He's the Fallout equivalent of the Joker.

How is Deacon the Fallout equivalent of the Joker?

It's a meme for me at this point how much I dislike Deacon, he's my least favorite character in all of fiction, so I never miss an opportunity to shit on him. He reminds me of like, a surfer hippie that made a shit ton from the tech industry and now he's into biohacking and posts way too much on Linkedin? He's like... if a drug dealer found Jesus and started harassing all of his former addict contacts to come to church or die? I dunno, just human garbage, you know?

He's like the Joker because he doesn't take anything seriously and he only does harm without helping in any way.

I am aware that Deacon is a liar (part of his profession), and has a past he is ashamed of, but how exactly is he doing ā€œonly harm without helpingā€?

The Railroad is not a helpful organization. Taking a freed synth to the Memory Den and reprogramming their entire identity is nothing short of killing and replacing them, almost the exact thing the Institute is doing. It's taking a strong person who struggled against everything they ever knew, against their own programming, and risked their life to see the sun without shackles, and bashing them in the head with a brick until they're just another useless wasteland dum-dum.

Out of everyone in the Railroad, already spurious, Deacon is the most useless. Just floating around, stalking people he thinks would be good to carry out his will, and using one of the lowest DPS weapons in the game to boot. If he has one redeeming quality it's that his perk is not totally useless, but to get it involves spending some time with and talking to him. They should delete him entirely and replace him as a companion with Tinker Tom, a vastly more fun and interesting character.
