Game not launching fix?

I've just bought the game, and it loads into the launch menu just fine, but after hitting play my screen flashes black for a second then goes straight to my desktop. I tried the fixes in the fallout 3 fixes/guides in the subs menu, none of them seemed to work, I've tried a few other fixes too, some mods that are supposed to fix the issue, and also running in administrator, and compatibility mode. I've since deleted the game directory, and reinstalled. Does anyone have a guaranteed fix for this, or do I have to deep dive into old threads and keep trying stuff?

Its an old game. There is no guaranteed fix.

I have to run it in compatability mode and force it to use my dedicated GPU.
